Jets G Kelechi Osemele, who hasn't practiced for two weeks due to a shoulder injury, will be fined and/or suspended for conduct detrimental if he doesn't practice tomorrow, a source said. The Jets and Osemele disagree on the severity. A team doctor and an independent doctor cleared him to practice, a source said. Osemele told reporters today that he needs surgery to repair his shoulder.

The timing of Osemele’s request for surgery raised some eyebrows inside the Jets. The coaches were planning on benching him in favor of Alex Lewis after the Patriots game. Though no one is denying he has an injury, the severity is what is disputed. Osemele may have decided to have the surgery when he felt he was losing his starting job.

He was examined by the Jets doctors and then sought a second opinion from a doctor in California. Here is where things get murky. Osemele said that both doctors told him he needs surgery. A source said the doctors did not say he needs surgery immediately and can play through the injury.

What's to stop any player from basically saying "Hey, I'm hurt and don't want to play"? Did anyone else see how Ramsey is miraculously healthy now that he has been traded. If he's medically cleared to play then he should play. If he wants the surgery, then he shouldn't be paid for it.

trade him, there has to be an organization willing to take this chump even if they have to give in to him place him on IR, he is under contract for next season... there has to be another chump organization out there besides ours...
