Mawae, who was a Hall of Fame finalist this year, spent eight of his 16 NFL seasons with the Jets from 1998-2005. He has made eight Pro Bowls in his career including six straight seasons while with the Jets (1999-2004). Mawae also made first-team All-Pro in 1999 and 2001.
He started in all 118 games he played with the Jets, and only missed six games during his eight seasons with the team.
The Jets did not induct a member to their Ring of Honor during the 2016-17 season. Mawae will be honored at halftime during the Jets' matchup agains the Jaguars on Oct. 1.
