Let’s start the college QB watch thread now!

5th Year Team Option

It's generally agreed that Mr. Justin Fields is not a good fit with the New Jersey Jets. He may or may not click with a different team. A new man in the position of starting QB is needed. The Jets have something going for them here. They can take on a green rookie, knowing that there's a seasoned veteran, Mr. Tyrod Taylor, available to help him get adjusted to NFL ball. He's worn 7 different uniforms, been starter and back-up, and by this time knows the game pretty thoroughly. As the search for a replacement goes on, the Jets should take whatever steps are needed to retain Mr. Taylor for the next couple of years. It won't break the bank. Regards.

Go, Jets! Go!

Indiana versus UCLA on Fox and it starts at 12. I finally get a chance to see what this Indian QB, Mendoza is all about. Hopefully, he truly has the goods.

So I’m watching this game and so far it’s really hard to judge because UCLA appears to be a horrible team. So how can you really judge what this or any quarterback truly has if everything is coming pretty easy to him in this game?

I will say that so far what I see is that he’s a true QB and a true pocket passer. Reminds me of a Matthew Stafford, Jared Golf, and dear I say, Tom Brady. So I’m impressed but then again, I got to see him against much better competition.

The score is now 49-6 and F. Mendoza has been taken out the game and his little brother is playing. He played well IMO but once again, I can’t say I’m truly impressed. UCLA is horrible and I don’t think we can gauge his performance from this. He is in the Heisman race, so there that also!

Watching the Miami vs. Stanford game now. Interested in seeing with the Miami QB, Carson Beck is all about.

All kidding aside, if Arch Manning enters the draft, I’m guessing they’ll go that way. Which I’m not to impressed with him at all so far. Either Arch, or the QB for the Miami Hurricanes Carson Beck.
Manning won't be coming out, he wouldn't be a top 10 QB, he is really struggling and needs more time to develop. Beck is likely going to fall to day 2 if not 3. Moore , Sellers, Mendoza , Simpson, Nussmier, and Mateer are all well ahead of him.

Thanks for the info. I will be paying attention to those guys. Mendoza looked good against UCLA.

I'm keeping my eye in Joe Fagnano - the QB of UCONN. He's been putting up some pretty impressive numbers.

Remember back when college QBs refused to go play for Teams who drafted them? With money paid to College QBs today, NO smart QB would go to Jets who Drafted him in first round!! Focus on 3 rd to 7 th rd QBs that have nothing to risk going to Jets who cant draft or develop a top QB from college. Lets not forget media, fans who want Rookie to be Dan Moreno like taking Fins to SB ! Jets needs to Prove they can do it training QBs and give them time to learn.

I normally would agree with you 1,000 percent on this kind of post but I gotta disagree on this one. What choice would the Jets have at that point? They will most likely win 2-3 more games this year and if they finish in second place, it will be clear that a QB is the highest priority need.

How could they not draft a QB at that point? Especially if it’s one that appears to have the right stuff. So far Mendoza seems to be the real deal! If that’s truly the case or any other QB that has the goods, and the Jets have a chance to draft him, you can’t pass up that opportunity!
