The New York Post reports Jets running back Le’Veon Bell was bowling all night on Saturday. Normally this would not be news, but the Jets had ruled him out of the game against the Dolphins the next day with the flu.

Bell missed practice on Thursday and Friday and was ruled out of the game on Saturday because he was dealing with the flu. Jets coach Adam Gase said the team sent him home on Friday to avoid getting other players sick. Gase also said Bell was not present at Saturday’s team walk-through. He was not seen at MetLife Stadium on Sunday when the Jets beat the Dolphins 22-21.

Apparently he felt well enough to bowl a few frames on Saturday, though. Sources said he was at Boonton Lanes, which is not far from where the Jets train in New Jersey, from around 10:30 p.m. to close to 1 a.m. when the bowling alley closed. Bell was easy to spot in orange leather pants.

This is the latest turn in an ugly season for the Jets. I am sure this will not be the last we hear about this story. In the meantime, I’ll try and figure out how I got to the point in my life where I’m writing an article about a player going bowling.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I bitched about it yesterday but he was sent home because he was contagious, not too sick to practice. Obviously a bad look but about as much of a non story as Sam getting laid on a Sunday night after a win. He showed up to practice, as a precaution he was sent home. No violation of team or league rules. I'm more pissed about the fake high ankle sprain.

Guess it bothers me that he would go out and infect lots of folks at the bowling alley with whatever illness he had. Most cases where they call this "flulike", it's an intestinal malady not the real flu which is a viral respiratory infection. Either way, he should have thought about those he could infect and stayed home.

Bell knew it wouldn't sit right with Gase and would give the team the nudge to trade him after this season to probably a team that will become a contender (unless they deal him to the Browns)... Bell knows he gots his money from the Jets in the matter of $30 M guaranteed, he don't care and actually neither do I as long as Adam Gase is the head coach...
