Echols is actually 79.9 giving up only one TD in 75 targets to 2 ints and 1 TD. With a pass rush next season, maybe he'll see some more improvement.
I've never heard of him being associated with that but I think it's obvious and inevitable. You can't build a team on day 1 picks. There just aren't enough of them. You can't even build a team on draft picks because there are only 7 a year. You need to develop the practice squad and sign UDFA...and yes, many of them will contribute significantly.
I admit I had never heard of him before we drafted. Rooting for his success.
i think that's dependent on the defense.
had Rex trotted Echols and Hall out on an "island" without a serious pass rush, or the heavy blitz packages he employed, i think our kids might look really bad.
having said that, our kids looked like good technicians by the end of the year in his hybrid man-zone scheme.
but to draft (egregious example) Gardner and Stingley for Saleh's D would be like Ray Croc using filet mignons to make a Big Mac... just not necessary.
