If Fitz is our qb, our offense should be much better than last year.
Tight End is barely used in Gaileys offense. Having said that, the return of Amaro should do wonders for us at that position. In addition, Enunwa has one more year under his belt as the Hback. He was raw to begin with. Hopefully with another offseason program he's able to build on what he learned last year. His speed and blocking is hard to match up with and creates mismatches.
Second, we've signed Matt Forte who's a better better fit for this offense than Chris Ivory ever was due to his catching ability. Powell who was the more explosive back last year should also see more playing time. He was held back last year because we had to give the rock to Ivory.
Oline may potentially be an upgrade too. Brick was declining. Maybe someone steps up and supplants Breno. Doesn't take much of an upgrade there. I'm hoping Qvale gets the nod. Management is high on him.
We've improved the punt returning position. Whoever wins there should be an upgrade to Mr. Fair Catch. I expect us to have better field position this year compared to last year.
You're taking an optimistic standpoint on their draft. We could argue everything you posted here, but really the win total is what ultimately grades your draft. So lets hear it Elias. How many games will the Jets win this season?
I already said, they did NOTHING to improve the offense. They got an OT, yes, but he'll need to be developed. He's not a day 1 starter. And likely he's depth at best, So once again the starting 5 was not improved at all. You could say Matt Forte is an improvement over Ivory. Not a huge amount, but a little due to pass catching ability I agree. So I guess I was wrong. They improved at RB.
Other than that, they improved nowhere. They play one of the hardest schedules in the league in 2016 and the top 5 defenses in the league. The Jets only beat one team per season with a winning record. Their aging roster did not get a youth infusion, what came out of the draft is what we expected all along. Now, their aging starting roster just got a year older.
All things considered, this team will hard pressed to win anything better than 6 games this season. They are screwed this season as far as I am concerned and unless they are miraculously able to add another 3 players via FA, this team does NOT have the good to compete with the best teams in the league.
