I absolutely agree. Impatience can be the kiss of death for a franchise.

This is a double edged sword as well. How patient is woody with this process? If they discussed that this season will be a struggle and they will go all out in free agency in '18 with more $$ in cap space, will Woody back up Bowles _Mac for another season.

I think Macc should get 5 years minimum. Unless someone is showing complete incompetence like Idzik, then they deserve time to build it up and watch it grow.

Bowles, on the other hand, needs to show a lot more next season IMO. He needs to get more involved in the defense because KC Rodgers needs help (to put it politely). Bowles needs to start changing his approach a little bit towards players, too. And start learning about how to better use time outs. If he doesn't show improvement as a coach, he's definitely on the hot seat after the year.

I think it's almost impossible for an outsider to know the truth about the coach. So much happens behind closed doors that we will never know. It's entirely possible that Woody and Mac are on the same page with Bowles. You also need to consider growing pains when you hire a first time coach.

I understand that POV, and agree with it generally speaking. I was referring to some of the in-game decision making I saw from Bowles this year. He looked like a rookie head coach to me. I don't believe in holding people to unreasonable ultimatums, but I still think Bowles has some growing to do as a HC. We had talent on the roster that should've been better than 5-11.

I do agree we should have been better than 5-11 with the talent we had. But with th play of Fitz it was impossible to overcome. If anything I would say that's the growing pains and lessons learned for Bowles. I believe he handled the situation poorly and it caused the trickle down negative aspect to the locker room... That cannot happen. He let it become a poison pill for the team and HC needs to recognize that and course correct immediately.

The Fitz/QB situation was beyond unbelievable. Going from 2015 to 2016, how could a guy be any worse? You replace him twice and the replacements both get hurt with season ending injuries. The 'future' can't be played yet, so you go back to a guy who is having a historically bad year. Has there ever been a bigger QB'ing nightmare anywhere, particularly after the real good production the previous year? I don't necessarily blame Bowles for that mess, nor do I blame him for Revis turning into a certified turd on the field last year. Why the entire defense fell apart as well is a bit of a mystery to me, and for that Bowles has some level (probably major %) of responsibility. I think we need to see a real change this year in how this responds to adversity, there will be alot. How schematically they perform, because talent won't cut it. The effort and efficiency can be coached, and thats what I want to see next year.
