Just to set ourselves for the major downfall every freaking year. Now this isn’t every Jets fan or fanatic. A lot of you guys are more realistic and can see it for what it is. I myself have seen the tea leaves for what they were in years past but I didn’t see it this year. Or I didn’t want to see anyway. That’s a much better way of putting it. Any die hard Jets fan will always see the real issues and know in their heart if we have it or not. Barring some unforeseen surprise trade, free agent signing or rookie(s) stepping up. When has that really EVER happened for the Jets?

So the true die hard fans will always know what’s going to happen but may not want to face it. There have been years when I did face it before the season started and called it for what it was. The past couple of years I’ve done that in fact. This year I didn’t, even though I know what our cornerbacks were going to be about. I know our oline would struggle (if not the entire year at least most of it). I know our WRs were average at best and we had no depth at WR, AT ALL. I know that we had to many 300 pound dline men to realistically play a legit 4-3 defense, and if they were going to stick with the 3-4 then that was a better fit but our OLB/pass rush was suspect at best.

I saw these issues but choice to ignore them and drank the kool aide anyway. There have been many years I’ve allowed them to get me like this and there will be many-many more. Here’s what most sad, is of the fact that I’ve been doing this back and forth shit with this team for 35 plus years (since 1982) and MAJORITY of the time, I still will fall for their bullshit. It’s just the life of a Jets fan. It’s always something with this damn team. If it ain’t this, it’s that, if it ain’t that, it’s this, it’s always something with this damn team. DAMN!

Until proven otherwise I will not believe in this organization. I predicted 8-8 and I was being generous. I still think 7-9 is a possibility. We are a very long way from building the depth that Mac destroyed. I know some fans on this board think I'm over the top with my hatred for Mac, but I was right. I don't call myself a pessimist, I call myself a realist. With that said, I do believe Douglas could be a decent GM. I'm not sold on Gase yet.

I have given up on this year because we will be 8-8 at best and I don't care about wasting my time watching anyone at QB other than Darnold. I will say Trevor is probably the better NFL QB at this point, but he has zero upside. Now if he could somehow win this game and one of the next 3 after that and we could be 2-4 when Sam comes back then I might be a little more enthusiastic. I never thought this team had a shot at the playoffs, but I just want a team that is making progress. Signing Bell and Mosley was awesome if we were closer, but we had a bottom 5 roster the last two years. So all those signings do is make us an average team and ruins our draft position. We must build through the draft and that takes time when you have less than 6 players worth a fuck on the roster.

After watching the starting qbs complete virtually ever pass against our starting defense, I figured we were in big trouble. Factor in the first six games too and I knew we were screwed. I don't think losing Darnold will change the number of wins either. In fact it may change the number in the positive direction.

All I wanted from this team this year was to have it look like we had a foundation to build on. I wanted to see a team of over achievers and a new attitude and culture. For me we needed to beat Buffalo last week at home for a chance at the culture change and the chance for that is now gone.

Now, we probably find a way too win maybe 2 of 6. Cleveland and Philly and after that win enough to get to 7 wins and make us wonder if Simeon is as good as Darnold who I don't think will play again this year. If he does play he will take a hit to the spleen and end his career

Most, maybe all of you guys watch the Jets and actually pay attention to who did what and messed up, who's fault this and that is. I have become so numb to the same shi t year after year that I can only half heartedly watch what's happening. I can't take it seriously enough to do anything but generalize that we suck because my mind is elsewhere on more important things when I'm watching the game.

Because I have always loved football I can't just give it up but I also can't take it seriously either

Parcells was here. We should have won a superbowl then and we still didnt. Had Hess not died I think Parcells stays longer and we get one.... But he didn't. I think that was our best shot and we blew it and we may not get another one for a long time

Honestly , as long as Belichick coaches, we have zero chance. I hate that but it's the truth

??????

Please don’t tell me you think Seamian is better then Darnold? I’ll admit he’s more experienced and may even be more stable or polished right now (if that’s the best way to put it) but now way in HELL is he better. His reads may be faster and he might be able to read the defense better at this point but if I remember correctly, he’s not mobile at all so improvising is something he can’t do. He’s not as accurate, his arm strength is no where near as strong as Darnold and ofcourse he has no upside. Darnold has tons of it. You’re probably right that we would have lost the same amount of games with Darnold but that wouldn’t be because Seamian is better then Darnold. Darnold is still developing and the team around him for the most part still sucks. Coaching decisions seem to be very suspect also.

I agree exactly on Douglas and gase. I didn't hate Mac as much as you. I'm a pessimist and a realist. I believe they're usually the dame. Always the same in Jetland

If you keep our 5 players who are worth a fuck, ship the rest to Belichick trade for his players, our suck ass players win the next superbowl and his great players suck ass. None keep their souls except the 5 that we kept

It's a long season and we can't rush to judgment after one game. Sean McDermott owns Gase's ass, so no surprise he coached scared and couldn't adjust.

Siemian looked good in the preseason and has started plenty of games. Hey you never know, with his experience he is bound to make quicker reads then Darnold was on Sunday and may actually make our O Line look less inept LOL!

One game at a time fellas, it's a long season and we probably weren't going to win more than 6-8 games no matter what (this team is still rebuilding)

Well you should have hated Mac as much as me. One of the worst GM's we have had and that's saying a lot.

I had hopes of a good year. Fairly easy schedule that set up favorably. Infusion of talent,Bell, Mosely,Crowder, Osemele etc. High energy that comes with new coaching staff.
Boles and Gase both won 10 their first seasons. Bowles here,Gase in Mia. Figured we would drop off significantly next year but seems like things will spiral faster.
Gase can not, or just refuses to game plan based on opponents. Fails to make any in game adjustments. I know he lost his QB during the game, but if he game plans for Garrett, that is less likely to happen. If he adjusts, after seeing Garrett unblocked repeatedly, and dominating Beachum, chances are lessened as well. Started throwing players under the bus week 1 and refuses to take any responsibility.
This is going to get very ugly very fast if it continues.
