That sucks. I loved Mangold. He can still play. He's going to sign somewhere else. Rappaport says he'll get lots of interest.

agreed.. hopefully this also means one of the kids will be the starting QB..

Just remember,is not a good idea to start a kid just because he's a kid, we need to make sure he's developed enough to not kill himself or a receiver.

Think of it like getting your racing license before hitting Daytona.

but it if petty, hackenberg or a '17 draft pick is ready, i don't want to hear bowles talking about the veteran JAG QB (that will inevitably be brought in) gives us the best chance to win bullshit..

Agree, but a coach can't bench guys everytime the wind blows in a different direction. The players need to see the coaching staff is fair, yet knows when to pull the plug. Because player retention and attitude can be a downfall if guys think that having a slump means the team gives up on them. It's a tough balance.

Did he stick with Fitz too long? Yes, but Woody and Mac were in on that conversation. And as we saw,geno sucked, and got hurt. Petty stunk,and got hurt. I don't think they had confidence that anyone was ready to replace Fitz.

but even if we find are selves in that situation, not giving at least hackenberg some starts in what's looking to be a full blown rebuild season would be inexcusable.. in my book anyway..

if a 2nd round QB under these circumstances still can't get some snaps in year two, perhaps the 2nd round isn't where you should have taken him..

Hack was a gamble for sure. Rumors are that the cs likes his progress,contrary to last year's Manish reports. They might just sign someone like Hoyer as a safety net, and let the kids duke it out.
