Mariota Unsure If He'll Throw At NFL Combine

Due to a shoulder injury suffered during the national championship. How much does this hurt his stock? I really think he'll be there when we select. I wonder if Mac will pull the trigger.

Marcus Mariota said he is undecided on whether he'll throw at the upcoming NFL Combine as he waits for an injury from the final game of his college career to heal.

"Right now we're still making that decision, whether to throw at the Combine. I had to kinda rest about a week-and-a-half," Mariota said, speaking at a press conference Saturday in Laie, where he was being honored as the first Polynesian College Football Player of the Year. "I sprained the AC joint (in his right, throwing, shoulder). But now, I'm able to throw. Feels good."

I'm not sold on Mariota so he NEEDS to throw. He isn't a risk-free QB when it comes to the NFL. Pay attention to the offense he plays. Does that work in the NFL? NO

but if anyone can make it work it will be chan gailey and chip kelley out of those two only one is a ny jet coach.

I still don't think he will be there to many bad teams at the top ahead of us need a QB and then you have the eagles who are really high on mariotta.

I bet you the titans would take foles so the eagles can move up then they resign sanchez for 1 year and let mariotta sit behind him for a season.

True true. Only those 2. But I honestly think he's a 50/50 guy. Jameis can't handle the New York media so I prefer Mariota BUT I'm not sold on his talent...YET

Why JWinston can't handle NY? He doesn't let off field problems bother him...I would much rather have a shot at Jameis but that's cost prohibitive

I want Winston but he will be gone at 6, I think we draft a QB and bring in a VET. Only we will have a real competition this year and may the best man win.

Zero chance he throws at the combine and frankly both he and his agent would be idiots to throw there.

Mariota is already facing a lot of question marks, and making 20 throws to WRs you dont know, coming off an injury can only hurt him.

Wait until your pro-day. Im not saying this will be the best way to judge him, but these guys cannot take ANY risks, and a guy like mariota has no reason to throw at the combine.
