after Knapp's untimely death, Matt Cavanaugh was brought in to help correlate the voice from LaFleur to Wilson, Calabrese had his role and they wanted additional voices in the QB room...
unfortunately there was a rift between Cavanaugh and Wilson when it started anyone's guess but it was evident during that game where Wilson was looking elsewhere with M.C. standing over him talking down to him...
they hired Beck because he had Wilson's ear, Wilson hired Beck so of course there was that relationship...
from day one Zach's mental state was I was the 2nd overall pick, I am here because they recognize my talents, and I know what I am doing attitude... but in reality he was playing outside the team's scope and doing things his way which was evident on how the offensive line struggled to block for him while he moved the pocket often... he kept playing this way until he opened himself to get cheap shot where it lead to an injury... reason I stated after the draft and before preseason that he needs to buy in and play within the system the reckless hero ball won't go over well at this level...
when he got hurt, even from a far Beck was trying to convince Zach to buy in to the game plan... Wilson even went home when he was injured something players don't do during the season even when they are hurt... So they hired Beck to control him, within the walls of Florham Park... With the success of all three: Mike, Josh & Joe it was evident they needed Zach to see that if he plays within the system he can win... With him finally buying in with Beck here, it allowed the coaching staff to focus on other areas to improve the offensive execution now that the rookie bought in...
now that Zach listening to Calabrese and LaFleur there is no need to keep Beck here, there is no reason to keep Cavanaugh here because it becomes to distracting having all these voices talking to Zach... If Flacco stays or Mike stays or they bring in someone else with the starting QB bought in, anyone or everyone else will also buy in...
End of Story...
