A towering New York Jets linebacker pounded the face of a Queens man during a fight in a Chelsea nightclub, according to a lawsuit.

Lorenzo Mauldin, who’s 6-foot-4 and weighs 260 pounds, hammered Jean P. Lopez in the face during a night of drinking at the Highline Ballroom on April 2, Lopez alleges.

Lopez accuses Mauldin of “causing a forceful and violent encounter with (his) body by striking (him) in the face,” the lawsuit said.

A second defendant, Reginald Cook, is accused of “pushing, grabbing and/or restraining” Lopez.

Lopez is also suing the Greenwich Village Entertainment Group, which runs the Highline, on W. 16th St. near Ninth Ave., under the state’s “dramshop act,” arguing that staff kept serving the 22-year-old linebacker, even though he was drunk.

The lawsuit, which was filed in Queens Supreme Court last month, says Lopez was “rendered sick, sore, lame and disabled.”

When asked for comment, a Jets spokesman said, “We are aware and have no further comment at this time.”

You want to cheer for this guy, but if this is true then I guess I won't be too shocked. Saw somewhere that his lawyers say they have the wrong guy. He better hope so.

Maybe it was a Revis-type thing where his friends did the pummeling and he was nearby and most recognizable. At least that is what I'm hoping.
