Met Life Stadium Seating Plan

I am considering going to my first game since the day that Wayne Chrebet got his last concussion. I'd appreciate tips as to the seating plan. I looked at the plan on the web site, which shows which sections are near midfield, near the goal line, etc. However, I'd appreciate tips from season ticket holders or frequent attendees as to which sections are covered/ protected from bad weather, which side of the field is better in that you don't look into the sun, etc. Any tips as to which sections would be more or less desirable would be appreciated.

I should add that I hope to have my 5 year-old grandson with me. Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Hi Namath - I used to have season tickets in section 133 (I think). It was at the goal line on the visitors side. There were always fans from opposing sides there and a bunch of fights would breakout here and there near us. One right behind us once. Had to shield my gf from getting knocked out. I wouldn’t recommend sitting on the visitor side as people who are fans of other fans would go there.

As for the sun, if you want to avoid it, don’t stay in the upper deck. There’s no avoiding it there. In the lower levels it’s hit or miss depending on the sun lol.

Thanks Elias. I had season tickets in a similar location to yours at... Shea Stadium! Shows you how old I am, LOL. If i'm on one of the sidelines, can you tell me whether the side behind the Jets' bench or the visitors' bench would be looking into the sun.? Thanks.

Jets sideline will be looking into the sun , but you will find no cover there.
Really not much cover around the stadium .
Endzone seats and corner of Endzone seats back rows, also some handicap sections are covered.
Our section 106 last row and probably 10 or so rows are under cover. That's why we chose those for my Dad , We now go handicap since I bring him in a wheelchair and they assign us different section each time.
Good Luck !

Gridiron club (visitors side) [EDIT: looks like it's the Toyota club now - was the Lexus club I think, thought in addition to sponsorship it was always called gridiron but I dont see that anymore] is your best bet with a 5 year old. It's the mezzanine on the sidelines. No shelter in the seats, but you can go into the 'club' area if it's too much Sun/cold etc. for the kids and there is a good bit of seating and A/C or heat. Obviously gets jam packed in heavy rain or other real extreme weather but when my kids were pre-teens we would go sit and have an ice cream to get out of the elements for a bit once or twice a game.

In case it's your first time, it's a different experience going with young kids - I spent 20 years watching every play 8 games a year, watched about a quarter and a half total when I first started taking my kids, probably 5 and 7. Luckily that was preseason (only tone I've ever gone to preseason) and they adjusted, but it's still a lot of attention on them and away from the game.

Thanks isired, I appreciate your input. Maybe I'll experiment with a pre-season game first to see if my grandson is up for sitting there for 3 hours. He has gone to a hockey game and loved that. Of course, I'll speak to his Dad, my son, who will have the final say on all of this.

Old? That's not old. Some of us have been going to the games since the Polo Grounds.
