take the 1st's we have and move them back 2 times to get "their 1st's" each time, and their 2nd and 3rd each time...
* This nets 4 seconds and 4 thirds to add to our 2 seconds and 1 3rd.

then take the latter firsts we have and get "their 1sts" next year and their 2nd and 3rds for this year.
* This nets 7 seconds all day. 6 3rds all day. and 3 firsts next year.
Joe Douglas may move back once but not multiple times get that silliness out of your mind...
he is NOT going to give away a first for future firsts...
What he may do is give our 2nd for a first next year to an eager team...

no I don't the consensus around social media is that we need Linderbaum...

I feel with our first pick Joe Douglas can fleece someone that wants a QB...
our second first can go to get someone like Kenyon Green RG...
then our first which would be our second now get a tackle like Trevor Penning Northern Iowa to be the RT who can step in and play LT if need be...

I believe we can get someone like Cade Mays in the 3rd who can become the future at center while keeping McGovern who is under contract for next season in place...

but thanks for putting words in my mouth...

I didn't mean to start anything...I just remembered the times you posted these:

Oct 25, 2021
Biggest Needs I will give you my First 5 picks:

(1) Safety Kyle Hamilton, Notre Dame (Ball Hawk Safety - rangy and physical)
(1) Center Tyler Linderbaum, Iowa (continue the OL rebuild) - Can keep McGovern and move him to RG for one season if need be or trade him...

Then taking the best center to come out of college over the past ten years...

Sorry it bothers you, but it is my projection to fix this roster not one area...

when I posted that, then our draft picks and who was available at those picks... was more consensus then anything... big board since then has changed and so have our draft picks... needs are just as they are posted at the top of the board... and since then McGovern has finally become the center he was signed to be...

don't go off what was, go off what is..

first mock draft has Thibodeaux and Luke Matthews
second mock has Linderbaum and Kenyon Green (10/27)
since then I have praised McGovern for his better play but some hiccups are there...
haven't done a new mock yet but there are plenty mocks in the mock database can be viewed from link above...

understand at that time McGovern and GVR were the problems... now better play from GVR, McGovern has stabilized and AVT is playing outstanding mostly...

i admit that it sounds crazy to do that much moving...and it will not happen.
however, is it that crazy? and why not?

1.) Plug & Play safeties are routinely found in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
2.) Plug & Play guards and centers are routinely found in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
3.) Plug & Play LB's are routinely found in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
4.) Ditto for DT's.

instead of being the "normal dumbass Jets", and (for example) signing Le'Veon Bell to a $50 million deal, why not get 5 highly rated behemoths in front of a good RB to make him great. then, when you have The New York Skyscrapers in place, get your jewel RB.

instead of being the "normal dumbass Jets", and (for example) signing T. Johnson for $80 million, why not get your safeties set to play with Echolls, Carter, and Hall...then, get your "Revis Island 2.0".

you don't lose the firsts...you just use them when you have a completed team to add the shiny new toys to.
if ever there was a time to completely and totally overhaul the team and infuse starters in at as many places as possible, it is now.

that being said, i know there is not a snow ball's shot in hades it'll happen.

2nd Round my target would be Lewis Cine for Safety to pair with Ash Davis... But there are a couple of 4th round options like Pola Mao nephew of Steeler Great Troy Polamalu is one of the two I would consider...

If you haven't noticed our GM is a trench guy meaning he will likely take an OL or DL in the first round since we are in need of RG & RT those could likely be the targets...

We have needs, corner there are five in the second round that would fit perfectly...

But we have need at depth for DE EDGE... After Carl Lawson, Bryce Huff the depth falls off... Now we don't if they will be able to restructure Shaq Lawson's $9 M 2022 salary... We don't know if after this year Tim Ward will make the active 53... Even then we will still need to draft at least one DE and 1 Rush Linebacker...

As for the other linebacker roles we will need to draft at least one coverage linebacker and one middle linebacker because injuries pile up and both these picks could be day 3...

Defensive Tackle both Foley & Sheperd are free agents and Rankins contract can be voided before the 7th day of new league year where a part of his salary becomes fully guaranteed...

we have needs the major needs are on offense two offensive linemen, two tight ends, one maybe two receivers... from there other big needs are safety, corner, edge (DE) edge (LB), another IOL that can play guard & center while also entertaining another RB...

why not just say we need every position outside LS, K, P -- agreed?

Connor McGovern called line protection on one play GVR picked up his block... Moses whiffed... McGovern went right, AVT went left and they allowed two defenders right up the middle... Even Fant was confused chose the inside guy rather taking the guy off the edge...

This line, their continuity or chemistry is not there and after this past week shows no one cares...
McGovern says you have to be in that locker room to see that they are trying to figure stuff out of clearly the OL has checked out...
GVR game is over, he should retire...
Moses is a good rotational option but after this season would NOT re-sign him...
Fant is a decent left tackle, better on the right side... He is under contract for next season...
Edoga is a better left tackle can play both side and next year is his rookie contract year...
McGovern is under contract and at times he makes the right call and AVT and him look great...
Alijah Vera Tucker will only get better when he gets Becton back...

I believe that with a better RG McGovern is a serviceable center for at least one year... We need and I stress NEED to draft a RG and RT this upcoming draft...

I agree with pretty much everything you say. GVR is done. He is no longer even reasonably adequate to start at the NFL level, and I'm not even sure if he is a depth guy any more. I'd let Moses walk after this year and look for a younger upgrade at RT.

McGovern has played well enough to merit another season with the Jets. Now, I like him at C, but if an elite C is there in the draft, I would not hesitate to draft that C, move McGovern to RG, and let McGovern help groom that C in terms of line calls.

Take it from a guy who had to learn C in college, shifting from just being a LG. Center is the second most important position on the OL, and close to the most.

have been in convo with @Old#15 about draft things and we believe there are options but right now the idea of fixing the porous right side of the line is key for this draft early with both first round picks now who that may be is debatable...

best center in the draft is Iowa's Tyler Linderbaum a close second who probably won't get drafted until round two is Alec Lindstrom from BC... but something no one is talking about is Tennessess's IOL plays guard, but has versatility at LT, LG, OC, RG, RT is Cade Mays... I would in the 3rd round draft this kid literally can be groomed as backup at Center and could develop into McGovern's future replacement...

As of now, not later or before I would take our top 3 pick and find a trade partner to fleece could end up with a multitude of draft capitol no matter where Seattle's first is, just because we have plenty needs throughout the roster and free agency is not the way to go...

Trading down to back end of the first round we could get a monster who has been climbing up the draft boards from Northern Iowa Trevor Penning 6'7" 340 lbs left tackle but we put him on the right side, who could backup Becton if need be...

Still don't know where Cameron Clark stands on the future of this team if he has one... But drafting a top Guard should also be in the plans if Clark is not considered an option... I like Kenyon Green but also like Zion Johnson from BC... Kenyon will be a top 15 pick, Zion will likely be back end of the 1st round but if Green goes in the Top 8 could bump Zion's stock just a tad where he could go in the Top 20...

But there are a couple of 4th round options like Pola Mao nephew of Steeler Great Troy Polamalu is one of the two I would consider... Cine is HOT on my list...after that, Leon O'neal Jr. "or" Verone McKinely , then if Trader Joe gets added 6th's and 7th's, he could steal Bubba Bolden out of Miami really late as he had a season ending.

If you haven't noticed our GM is a trench guy meaning he will likely take an OL or DL in the first round since we are in need of RG & RT those could likely be the targets...Noted!! at RT, Penning or Kinnard. At RG, Munford or Ekiyor will be there. But i am getting the line finished...we can get Jarrett Patterson out of Notre Dame, or Ricky Stromberg from Arkansas.

But we have need at depth for DE EDGE... After Carl Lawson, Bryce Huff the depth falls off... Now we don't if they will be able to restructure Shaq Lawson's $9 M 2022 salary... I think we can get an actual "DE" in the 4th or 5th who can play right away. like Myron Tagovailaoa- Amosa.

Let them all walk!!! All of them. This draft is loaded with DT's who can actually collapse a pocket and still play the run.

Yes, we need to rebuild the team. Pretty Please, Joe...keep trading down our first this year to fleece seconds and thirds while getting the first back next year!!

team is still high on Foley and he is a solid option to get at least a new 2 year deal but Sheperd is done here with the Green & White could end up being another Big Blue signing...

I think Sheldon Rankins could either be released or traded and before this past trade deadline there was rumblings of a few teams calling about his availability...

there is one name I keep hearing from my friends inside Jets scouting circles is Haskell Garret from Ohio State as a day 3 option, raw but upside is good...

"if" SEAT keeps crapping the bed, we can trade back with the G-men to #8 with the 3rd overall, and MIA to #12 with the 7th overall, get their seconds and thirds, and then trade the 8th and 12th to the 20's and more seconds and 3rds.... then trade out the 20's for next year's firsts and more seconds and thirds.

everything we've been talking about at every spot can be stamped COMPLETED in one draft!
i know...i am crazy for thinking it!

As something of both a Big 10 follower and a BC fan, I have seen some of both Linderbaum and Lindstrom. I'm up for either, depending on how the draft fell. I'd be happy with either. If I recall, Linderbaum was initially being recruited as a DL. He's athletic, which will fit the scheme well.

I can honestly say I have not seen enough of Mays to have an opinion yet.

Jarrett Patterson from Notre Dame is no slouch; nor is Ricky Stromberg from ARK or Forsythe from OR. The only knock i have heard on Lindstrom is strength.

Alec Lindstrom BC is ranked right now as a mid second...
Cade Mays Tennessee is ranked early 3rd
Nick Ford Utah is ranked early 3rd
Ben Brown Ole Miss is ranked late 3rd

I will take anyone of these centers... I would want Mays because he is versatile understands everyone's job being he played all five lineman positions... Nick Ford was going to come out last year but his coaches nearly begged him to return to school and he upped his ranking...

Lindstrom is an older center the only knock him is his age...

If it is between drafting a RG & RT instead of taking Tyler Linderbaum so be it --- he is the best center BUT he wouldn't fix our OL issues...
