The problem was that Mims played in college in the Art Briles system. His route tree was basically, "go route, go route, go route."
Stop with the logic . Don’t you know how this works after all these years ?The problem was that Mims played in college in the Art Briles system. His route tree was basically, "go route, go route, go route."
I see T O type talent when I look at MimsI hope they don't trade this kid. Talent like his is damn near unmatchable. Imagine the 5 WRs we can have with him involved; they just have to get him involved. Wilson, Davis, Moore, Berrios and Mims. I believe I can guarantee that if they get him about 40-50 targets this year, that will make him very happy. What he'll do with I don't know but maybe he'll surprise us.
The coaching staff needs to find a role for Mims. Thats literally what their job is. I don't care if his only route is the go route. There is no reason to admit failure this soon on Mims. If he starts committing penalties in real games then bench him. If any of the top 4 WR's goes down then he will be needed. Having a deep bench is how teams overcome injuries.I hope they don't trade this kid. Talent like his is damn near unmatchable. & mims job as a pro, much less a 2nd round pick is to know his playbook.. apparently that is not an issue for the rest of the WR room.. is this still an issue in year 2 in the system for mims??The coaching staff needs to find a role for Mims. Thats literally what their job is.
I agree. Its not like he is spinning around in circles like that vibrating football game. I think they can find him a role.& mims job as a pro, much less a 2nd round pick is to know his playbook.. apparently that is not an issue for the rest of the WR room.. is this still an issue in year 2 in the system for mims??
who exactly are we talking about here!? the guy they've done essentially eveything they could to replace since he was drafted??
Mims is always open when he’s on the field. He may have ran the wrong route or dropped the pass (not often because he’s got very good hands) but he was always open.He can get open vs. Mr. Paper or plastic but against NFL players I doubt it ...the last 3 years show that

If the Jets were to keep him and there were no injuries decimating the WR corps, I can just about guarantee that he wouldn't get 40-50 targets with the Jets this season.I hope they don't trade this kid. And that’s the problem right there. They don’t trust him enough to throw the ball to him that much. Let alone get him on the field that many times. Hell go practically anywhere else and blow up. With good quality targets like that, he’s capable of catching 30-35 passes for about 450 yards and a few TDs.If the Jets were to keep him and there were no injuries decimating the WR corps, I can just about guarantee that he wouldn't get 40-50 targets with the Jets this season.
You talk about Mims needing 40-50 targets. He had 67 targets in his career only to make 31 catches for 490 yards and 0 TDs. So I'm not sure why you'd think that 40-50 targets would make the team very happy. And that’s the problem right there. They don’t trust him enough to throw the ball to him that much. I might trade Davis before Mims. One has proven he is an underachiever. The other is just now beginning his underachieving career.
As would I . Trouble is Saleah loves Davis and thinks he’s special.I might trade Davis before Mims. One has proven he is an underachiever. The other is just now beginning his underachieving career.
