Every now and then a player fools you, until he gets paid, then he promptly goes in the tank. Most guys, if they are dogs at heart, cannot hide it long enough to cash in (see Sheldon Richardson), but every now and then a player pulls it off. For examples of this, see Albert Haynesworth, Colin Kaepernick et al.
I regret to say it, but it appears we might have been taken in by THE BIG CON this year with Wilkerson.
He had me fooled, and I know he had most of you fooled too, but if reports of him missing and being late for meetings, which is to say, being generally disinterested are true, and we know that barring his first game back he has been a huge disappointment on the field too, then it looks like we got played and now we are stuck holding the bag, a massive contract and salary cap hit for a dog who has quit on the team.
I hope I'm wrong, I hope its just a health issue or a slump, but none of that accounts for missing and being late to team meetings and embarrassingly getting benched to start the game on Sunday.
I'm sure nobody is surprised it has come to this with Sheldon, he has long since revealed himself as a selfish imbecile, just be thankful he revealed it BEFORE we handed him sacks filled with money, but I fear we might not have been so lucky with Wilkerson.
