Ackers really is irrelevant to the discussion.I think it's normal to be skeptical/cautious regarding Carl Lawson's timetable to return.
And that's only because this is a much different situation than (for say) a much younger Cam Akers (making a quick recovery from an Achilles injury).
Because unlike Carl Lawson; Cam Akers never suffered two ACL injuries (before then suffering an Achilles injury).
The worst thing that could happen for our Jets and more importantly to Carl Lawson himself, is to rush back from another injury (too soon).
What's relevant is the new technique used to repair the Achilles tendon. A brace is now sutured over the tendon giving much more support and strength to the tendon then the previous technique of just suturing the damaged strings of the rupture together.
As far as Akers, he is a prime example of the NFL teams caring about wins over the health of players. He should not have been playing.
