I am truly truly impressed with his half-time adjustments it's early I know and the sample is small but if he keeps it up he could truly be one of the best half-time adjusters in the league. I can't remember the last time we had a coach that could do that.

I read where they said after halftime they stayed mostly in the 4-3 they were having good success with it. His ability to adapt is a thing of beauty.

I'm not really sure there were all that many adjustments.

They just stopped putting the ball on the ground. They played 4-3 most of the game and it smothered the Skins run game. Game plan seemed to be to bounce ivory out side instead of trying to run over those big DL, they ran around them.

Difference in the 3rd quarter, they started to execute . IMO that's the sign of a good team.

Are they good enough to stop the Pats? We'll see.

Night and day on half time adjustments from Rex to Bowles.....

There hasn't been a game this year where we weren't the better team in the 2nd half....

Jets Rank No. 1 in Defense (No. 3 Rush & No. 2 Pass), No. 1 in Points Allowed (15 PPG) & No. 1 in Rush Offense (146 YPG).

And Points Allowed is misleading because we've given two TD's up on a punt return and a blocked punt. IMO special teams scores should be separated from Points Allowed on defense, but its not, the system is flawed, so you get 15 PPG when the defense is giving up a minuscule 12.2 PPG

To me, coaches can be judged by how their teams play in the third quarter. By that point, you have seen what the other team’s game plan is and have halftime to adjust. You also have halftime to light a fire under your team if it’s having a lackadaisical performance.

On Sunday, Todd Bowles’ halftime heroics were on display. The Jets were sleep-walking in the first half, but exploded in the third quarter for 17 points. Players said Bowles made it clear he was unhappy at halftime, but was not a crazy man. He challenged the veterans to pick it up and they did. Darrelle Revis, Brandon Marshall and Ryan Fitzpatrick were in the middle of the comeback — all players north of 30.

The Jets have outscored opponents 34-0 in third quarters this season. That is an impressive mark that speaks volumes about Bowles. It really is amazing it took Bowles this long to get a head coaching job. He is built for the job. He seems to hit all the right buttons week after week. The decision to play a four-man front against Washington worked perfectly, buttoning up their rushing attack.

Now, let’s see how he matches up with Bill Belichick.

I don't believe there were any adjustments for the Redskins game. The Jets had already installed a great gameplan, they just did not execute it. They kept on fumbling and being careless with the ball instead. Once they got down to executing the gameplan and simultaneously securing the football, the Skins didn't stand a chance.

Bowles will have to have a better gameplan than he's ever had before. His challenges must be good, and he must ensure that EVERY phase of the Jets team can execute his plan. The Jets must fire on all cylinders this weekend to win, something they haven't done since about 2010.
