My CBA Proposal is...

Jack of All Trades
Big Fish
The Mod Squad
Jet Fanatics
Jets Global
17 Game Season
14 Team Playoff (Top Team Gets Bye in each Conference)
2 Preseason Games
2 in season bye Week
1 preseason to season bye week

The off season schedule would be the same as proposed in the new cba proposal..

The difference only having 2 preseason games one for the starters the 2nd for the roster hopefuls...
Roster Size 58 players
Game Day Roster 50 Players
Practice Squad 12 Players

If a player is hurt in the off season, preseason or by week 4 they can be placed on the PUP list or Inactive Game Day List that is 8 players or be placed on IR...

Players on the PUP list a maximum of 6 players are all active players that are a part of the 58 man roster...

A total of 3 players can be brought back to active status from IR by week 14...

Practice Squad players that were draft picks team has first refusal rights to keep player with team... Those drafted players keep their rookie scale salary... If a new team wants to sign said player will forfeit same round draft pick the next year for that player... Rookie FA can be signed by any team unless they sign a 4 year rookie FA deal with origin team... Cash Considerations and 7th round pick for rookie FA under 4 year contract... Players under one year deals have rights to sign elsewhere, new team will have said player for a minimum of 6 active weeks on the active roster...

2 Bye Weeks -- The first bye week will be between week 3 and week 8 for all teams, the second bye would be between week 12 and week 17...
Preseason -- Season bye week is between after 2nd preseason game and week 1 start of the season to allow teams more time to set rosters...

This will alleviate the worry of being overworked, and be able to be properly compensated while the owners will make more from in game concessions, merchandise from regular season to the playoffs...

That 17th Game will consist to always be in state rivals... Giants vs Jets, Chargers vs Rams, Ravens vs Redskins, Buccaneers vs Dolphins, Texans vs Cowboys, Steelers vs Eagles, the rest of the league will have AFC vs NFC rivalries created like Bills vs Browns, Patriots vs Bengals, Seahawks vs Raiders, Broncos vs 49ers and so on...

Part II: The Financial Part

have to look at the financials to make things a bit better for the players over time, but they can start by offering rookie free agents that are on the way to practice squad full non-guaranteed 4 year deals while players that are drafted heading to practice squad keep their rookie scale with guarantees... Any players on practice squad that are elevated to active roster receive an end of the year bonus for how many games that played in to boost their salaries...

Mine is a 18 game season. Ofcourse this may sounds even worse then 17 games but hear me out:

1. Only two pre-season games in which only the bubble players, rookies, practice squad, special team players and bottom of the line back ups (3rd and 4th) stringers play. Starters and most second stringers will sit them out (mandatory) and use the the first two regular season games as their pre-season warm ups pretty much. Ofcourse they’ll play the entire or majority of the games but everyone should expect sloppiness as the players are getting back used to playing football.

2. Add another bye week and make the bye weeks from weeks 5-8 and 13-16. Which means eight teams will have a bye week each week indicated above, and the same teams that have a bye week in week 5 will have a bye week in week 13, etc-etc... So this means all teams play the first four games, then they all play four games in between the bye weeks. They then will play four more games after the second set of by weeks. If my math is correct that should end the season with 18 games. So no team plays more then seven straight games if my math is also correct.

3. The Thursday night primetime games will only be played for teams after their bye week which will give them extra time off. If my thinking is correct here.

4. Up the active rosters by 10 more players and practice squad players by 5.

5. Give the players that play three years at least, lifetime free medical, psychiatric (if needed), dental and vision and life insurance benefits. Ofcourse if they sustain a major football related injury prior to the three years then the same applies for them.

6. Up the salary for all players to whatever it takes to get them to sign the agreement.

7. Keep the same amount of playoff teams, and playoff structure they have now. I actually like the playoff structure they have now. However I wouldn’t mind one change and that is the top 8 teams, each conference ofcourse make the playoffs. No more division champs get a automatic bid.

8. The other two regular season games should be two more conference games. Depending on where you finished the year before, you play the other teams matching your place. So if you finished first or fourth, ofcourse you play the first or fourth place teams. If you finished second or third then you play the second or third place teams.

9. To spice it up there can be some sort of guarantee added for unrestricted free agents and undrafted rookies, or signed XFL or whatever other league players. Maybe even up the draft to 8 or 9 rounds to bring more college talent in. This can also help with upping the roster spots for each team.

10. There should be if it isn’t and if it is, they need to make it better, some type of lifetime money guarantee or trust fund for all players that played three years or longer. Same applies to players that get seriously injured prior to that three year mark.
