Nate Solder out for the season

This is why i hate the Patriots. I don't understand how they are able to plug anyone in and move on without missing a beat. They even did it when Brady went down and Cassell had to step in.

Any idea why?

In all seriousness there is very little tolerance for mistakes on that team, and move folks out pretty quickly if they don't perform. So it seems that they can plug just about anyone in and have continued success. Losing Solder will no doubt impact them, but BB and TB will find a way to minimize their exposure with him being out. It's always interesting to see how they make those sort of adjustments. I can't believe I actually gave that cheating scumbag props.

I found myself giving those scumbags props the other day also. I was arguing with a Giants fan-friend of mine and his response to me was "have fun being in second place as long as Brady's there."

I was okay with that. That team will go down as best ever. Let's just hope when Brady is no longer able to perform, we are right there to pick up the slack.

Dallas actually did pretty well with speed off the edge last week for the whole first half up until Hardy got gassed and McDaniels made adjustments. Think Brady was sacked 5 times...

Dallas uncharacteristically opened up the game playing dime with press coverage and a four man rush which took away the quick throws and screens. Then after the half the Pats switched to Blount up the gut and started stacking the receivers and doing quick rub plays which opened up the game for the blowout.

I'm really interested to see how Bowles attacks them, especially now that he's got the a full deck with Richardson's back .

Not sure Hardy got gassed. Here's what I think happened.

Hardy seemed very interested in Gisele before the game, He was killing Brady the first half, think they cut a deal at half time

Problem with the Pats is Brady gets rid of the ball so fast most of the time. Lots or quick hits and screens. If you can shutnthat down then they are in trouble. Easier said than done.

This is why it will seem like they won't miss solder.

Speed off the edge doesn't do much against them. Pressure up the middle is the only way to get to him. Time for Richardson to earn some forgiveness

Don't think Richardson is going to get to many snaps Sunday.

Jets got very effective pressure up the middle against Luck. Who they used to bring it was Davis. Think you might see that again

Solder out is not that big.
This year Brady releases the ball avg. 2.06 seconds...that's warp+ speed. Knock Brady down, but the ball is already in the receivers hand.
Dallas put in a defense Belichick hadn't planned for, after they made adjustments, Dallas' defense was a non factor.

Canon has been better than Solder, so I've heard, and they didn't sign him to $9 mil a year because some 12 year old on twitter, thinks he's great.
They evaluate players on what they see the player's role would be on their team and they can play in different positions. So when they plug someone in, it's not a surprise to them that they can do the job. When Belichick releases a player, it's because the player is not worth the money. (i.e. Last year, Wilfork, Revis, Browner, Arrington, Vereen).
Obviously they see potential players differently than the rest of the league by their record with castoff players from other teams.
The league will have to wish for a better injury to the Patriots, this is not even bump in the road.

Good example: Go to the video that shows Dion Lewis as a freshman on varsity at Pitt when they played Cinci. Dave Wannstedt was coach.
Matt Millen was doing color broadcast said Lewis looked like Barry Sanders.
They rushed Lewis 47 times in the game!!! Obviously the guy has a motor.

The Patriots losing those corners is going to not hurt them? They got toasted game one and have not faced a QB since. That defense will get lit up against good opponents.

You don't need to sack Brady to make him less effective, just hit him hard and often. Whenever he is physically bothered in games, he seems to lose the edge that makes him great. Solder being out wont ruin their season but it definitely makes Brady more vulnerable

If they had any offense at all the Boys would have had a chance last week. They didn't.

Think the Pats are in for a fall soon. Like maybe in two weeks

Yeah, not having an offense really hurt the Cowboys, I agree...

IMO, the Pats kicking game was the difference, and what saved them, in the first half when Hardy and McClain were teeing off on Brady. Field position was won by the Pats which pinned Dallas back often and then Gostkowski made some FG's. In the end they made the adjustments and Dallas didn't have an answer for them.

You have to figure that Bowles will look long and hard at that game film in looking for possible answers as he has the personnel, minus coverage LB's, to possibly give Brady fits. Gronk is the BIG problem to contain...

Agree 100%.

If you look at the stats this game should't have been a blow out.

The boys were just useless on offense. Couldn't take advantage of the D line play at all. For the Jets, as you mentioned, containing Gronk is going to be the problem

What I've seen with Brady is always the same.... You MUST hit him early and often. He does not like getting sacked. Todd Bowles normal tendencies is the Patsies big problem. Our defense can accomplish that mission if they are focused and disguising their blitzing. But the offense also MUST hold it's end of the bargain. They have to have Chris Ivory get off early. They need constant time consuming drives which ends in scores and NOT just field goals. They MUST get touchdowns to end their drives.

But that's the recipe for victory in a nutshell. Brady will become errant on his throws when you hit him enough. He may even throw a few interceptions if the DL is doing things right.

The offense must get long, time consuming drives that end in touchdowns. It's much easier said than done, but it is possible.

The Patsies offense is an offense is an offense that is high powered and makes very few mistakes. Most teams just wait for the other team to make a mistake and then take advantage of it. With the Patsies you must make them make those mistakes and have a scheme for insuring it.

The other guy that the Jets need to lay a few cracks on is Edelman. Pryor needs to take his head off on one of those crossing routes and see how he responds to it. I don't care if it nets them 15 yards...do it early. Grok likely can't be stopped but Edelman can.

put Revis on Gronk
Absolutely, and put Buster Skrine on Edelman.

Cromartie should be able to handle Keshawn Martin or whoever plays opposite Edelman, but I don't like the Cro/Edelman matchup. Cro is better with the big outside receivers, not so much with the quick and elusive slot WR's, and Edelman is basically Wes Welker 2.0. I think Skrine gives us a better matchup there.
