ESPN -- In an attempt to improve the defense, Bowles quietly made a change in the game-day operation. Coordinator Kacy Rodgers, usually at his side during games, went upstairs to the coaches' booth on Monday at Arizona.

"Kacy can see the game better and, from a call standpoint, he can better communicate with me, as opposed to both of us standing on the sideline, seeing the same thing," Bowles told me. "Now we've got eyes up high and eyes down low."

Basically, Rodgers switched places with outside linebackers coach Mark Collins, who worked from the field. Did the new arrangement work? Well, they eliminated the big plays in the passing game, but they sprung a new leak -- shoddy run defense.

In case you're wondering, Bowles said he calls about "half" the defensive plays. That had always been somewhat of a mystery.

Well, I'm not sure it's working.....The defense still got steamrolled last Monday. The defensive line was still garbage on Monday and can somebody, ANYBODY, tell me why Sheldon Richardson is playing stand up linebacker?! This has got to be the single DUMBEST fucking arrangement I think I have ever seen.

Everybody called out Rex Ryan for forcing Pryor to play Free Safety. How is toilet Bowles forcing Sheldon to play stand up linebacker any different from Rex/Pryor? In case of Rex, he had no choice as John Idzik cut Dmitri Patterson and never replaced him. That left Rex with a secondary completely devoid of talent. In the case of Bowles, he has plenty of options at linebacker, so why the fuck is he doing this stupid shit?

This is just another reason why toilet Bowles should be fucking fired as far as I am concerned. This does NOT make any sense at all. Like Mike Westhoff already said, the Jets should just go completely simplistic in an effort to spark their play at this point and go with a 4-3 completely. That would allow all of their defensive line to play, including Sheldon, with their hand in the dirt. It would also allow Verne (when he's healthy again) to showcase his talent.

BOTH Sheldon and Verne are miscast in the 3-4. Sheldon because he's being misused, Verne because he simply isn't big enough to play in a 3-4.
