anyone else think that under thrown, again, pass to D. Smith on 3rd down to give the ball back to the Pats to essentially put them up 10 was a big play. Fitzpatrick throws that ball out in front the outcomes different, i think. That is with all the other mishaps. i don't know if anyone brought up the pass interference on Cumberland in the end zone that wasn't called, made the Jets settle for a field goal.

Minor play with Smith. The killer was the Marshall TD drop

To go into a hostile environment against the defending champs we simply did not make enough plays to win. We weren't embarrassed, or dominated in any sense, like many outsiders predicted. Yes a loss still but we have an idea how we match up to the best. Let's see what we learned from this by week 16 when they visit our lair. I'm proud of them today. The only thing able to stop C Ivory is C Ivory. Still was in this game to the end.

I can't argue with him here. I'm a big Marshall fan, I have him in my signature, and I'm not bailing on him AT ALL, but that drop in the end-zone was probably the biggest play in the game and most responsible for a huge missed opportunity to beat the Pats and REALLY enter the SB conversation. It was all right there for the taking, and he dropped the ball, both literally and figuratively. We had these guys on the ropes and that could have been the knockout punch.

Thats whats so painful about this loss. IMO we outplayed NE and we should have won that game, but we let them off the hook. WE HAD THEM and we let them off the hook.

I see what you're saying, but it's hard to rue his drop and ignore the 10 the Pats made.

We needed to play a great game and we played a really good one. We DEFINITELY made them play lower than they're accustomed to.

We lost the battle, but I'm feeling pretty good about the war . . .

Of course, the most egregious being a blatant pass interference in the end-zone on Cumberland, with the referee standing two feet away, and he swallowed his flag as usual verses the Patriots, especially in their building. So we had to settle for 3 instead of a first and goal at the 1, IOW's a sure TD.

I don't know that the Pats are better. They definitely have the better QB and thats always a huge advantage for them, no disputing that, but IMO the Jets have the superior roster on paper and a distinct advantage in a number of spots. As for todays game, IMO the Jets were the better team on this day, they outplayed NE in my view, they just failed to make the one or two plays they needed to make to CLOSE THE DEAL, plays that to a man they will tell you they should have made.

That allowed NE to hang around and steal it in the 4th Qtr, steal a game where they were outplayed for 3+ Qtrs.

The Pats converted on 3rd downs in the 4 th qtr and the Jets didn't. That was the difference. Edelman, Amendola and Gronk made huge 3rd down grabs that kept drives alive. Considering that the Pats didn't even try to run the ball and were very one dimensional on offense, but the Jets defense couldn't stop them when it counted is a sobering thought. The Pats were better today.
Let's see how the Jets respond. It's a long season.

if ivory doesn't get dinged early & marshall doesn't have a WTF drop I believe i believe we would have won today..

that said, as much as it pains me to admit, brady is legendary..
