Under contract: Denzel Mims, Jamison Crowder, Braxton Berrios, Lawrence Cager, Josh Malone, D.J. Montgomery, Jaleel Scott, Manasseh Bailey, Josh Doctson

UFA: Breshad Perriman

Game plan: Help! Even if they keep Crowder, who has a team-high $11.4 million cap charge, the Jets still need a starter on the outside to pair with Mims. It's hard to envision Douglas spending $20 million per year for a top-of-the-market free agent, but he could go for a middle-range player such as Kendrick Bourne (49ers) or Nelson Agholor (Las Vegas Raiders). Perriman likely won't be back.

Under contract: Chris Herndon, Ryan Griffin, Trevon Wesco, Connor Davis

UFA: Daniel Brown, Ross Travis

Game plan: Any moves made here hinges on whether the new staff believes Herndon is worth salvaging. He regressed under former coach Adam Gase, but he has the all-around talent as a wide receiver and blocker to have a prominent role in LaFleur's offense. Griffin ($3.3 million cap) could be a cap casualty after a sub-par season. It wouldn't be a surprise if the Jets sign an affordable veteran.

I agree. Nice tag team with Herndon . But we wont sign him because this organization spends money in all the wrong places
stop with putting Joe Douglas with the accountants we had as GM's previously he has started his regime off right last off season and cleaning up the mess that Maccagnan left us...

We’ll see how he does in a couple of weeks. Joe has done some good things (Becton, Mims, getting rid if Adams, signing McGovern, and putting us in a good position cap and picks wise, but he let Anderson walk (bad), his first draft class (outside of Becton, Mims) was ehhh, and his FA signings outside McGovern didn’t amount to much. Now if he hits it outta the park this offseason, I’ll give him kudos, but right now jury is still out on him

Absolutely
2wins so far under his watch
Let’s see what happens
I’ve been a Jet fan too long and pessimism has become part of my nature
Oh well
Until it changes for the good I can’t believe yet
I do love the new coach but he has 0 wins so far

forced to work with Gase then when he got the power he did the smart move fired the bum
oh wait the accountants would of done the same thing, yea right they were tied to the head coach as partners
Joe Douglas gets reported too not holding hands with the head coach
the owners hired Robert Saleh with no input by the GM because they on the same level oh wait JD changed that situation
lets not forget what was it is not what is
lets give the man a chance to continue and all the players he signed in free agency the contracts are short term deals because like the organizations he worked with in the past believed building through the draft not paying through free agency...

Now that the smoke has cleared as far as WRs/TEs go, my realistic 'gets' would be:
  1. Samuel;
  2. Smith Shuster:
  3. JSmith;
  4. Golladay; and
  5. Henry.
I think Samuel might be a great fit/tool in LaFleur's offense and if we decide to load up on WRs, Smith Shuster would be a nice intermediate YAC option for whoever the QB. There are a lot of quality WRs in the draft so it might be one or the other of my top 2, and draft the 2nd/3rd guys (Collins/Rodgers). I really like the idea of adding another receiving TE across from Herndon, either with one of the 2 above or the draft (Freiermuth from PSU or Long from BC). The injuries for both Golladay and Henry are a concern, but if healthy would be very good adds.
