what is the upside to winning games now?? you're certainly not the only one here that believes winning games at this point is beneficial.. but potentially blowing a higher pick is just not a good enough reason in my eyes to root for meaningless wins.. to hell with fool's gold..
the only thing left in this season is finding out what petty brings to the table as the starter.. IMO, anyway..
I will be spending 3 hours watching the team I have been following for decades. When I do this, I look for a win no matter the situation. Wins are rare. You take 'em when you can
As far as the draft slot, perhaps winning a few games and moving back saves the team from a nonproductive pick. Examples: 2012 - Coples as #16, Chandler Jones as #21 ;2013 - Milliner as #9, Richardson as #13; 2014- Bortles as #3, Kahlil Mack as #5. Perhaps Lam Jones taught us all that lesson decades ago.
Of course, there are as many contrary examples, but the point is that playing for draft slot is simply bad business. This is a Jets game. Gives me something to root for. You take what the football gods give you.
