Next Coach?

Interesting note here..............many of us assume that Vrabel is getting the HC job with the Patriots but last I knew the only interview Robert Kraft has on his list so far is BEN JOHNSON.

What about Jerrod Mayo??? I’d say the Jets should interview him and go after him hard! Imagine the Jets hiring him and it working out for 20-plus years. That would be throwing it right back in the Patriots freaking faces in the biggest way!
While I would love to throw that in Robert Kraft's face I don't think that Mayo as HC works for me.

Hard pass. I watched this season. It would be so Jetsy to go after a guy with 4 wins as a HC.

And he must already have the job, for them to have already fired Mayo after one year.

This ain’t happening;

Rex Ryan, who interviewed Tuesday for the team's head coaching vacancy, is convinced he will land the job.

If it happens, he says he will put an end to the Aaron Rodgers "country club."

Will he have his wife wearing a number 8 tattooed on his foot ?

Tell me one reason Mayo deserves to have a shot at the Jets job?? Antonio Pierce got fired today too. Let's call him as well since 4 wins is the criteria.
1. Mayo got the job with NO top tier players to work with on offense. Everyone knew that! This was supposed to be a throw away year, just to see if they did have any talent and they really don’t. Other than the QB. What did they expect this man to accomplish? NE didn’t even give him a chance to prove that he could be a good HC and this was his first head coaching job!

2. It seems he didn’t even want to start the rookie QB, which was smart but they did and the kid showed some real signs. Even with that garbage he had around him. Mayo should get credit just for helping to keep the kid alive and healthy for the season, let alone having a decent rookie season.

3. This job here would be the ultimate motivation for him. The hated rival for the Pats and the feelings are equally mutual and a chance for him to prove he’s better than that. A chance for him to do it year in and out in the same damn division. Especially if he can pull this off without drafting a QB this year.

4. He’s only 38 year old, so any team that hires him if he works out were talking decades or possible success. As a former player, Mayo can connect with the players better, or you would think better than a regular coach would. Meaning he would have a better pulse on the locker room and what it would take to make them tick.

5. New England molded this guy for the job. They drafted him, the Pats were the only NFL team he played for and coached for (if I’m correct). They molded him for the job and only gave him one-year with a horrible roster and that’s supposed to be fair? He has gotta be steaming for another opportunity to prove them wrong and what better team and situation to do it with than the Jets!

He wasn't ready to be a HC. Don't think he has ever even been a coordinator. The Jets need someone who is ready. They are a mess. Bill's disciples usually fail. Now if we want someone young who played for the real Bill and coordinated on a good team then give me Aaron Glenn. Being a former Jet makes it even better.

No way Vrabel is a possibility to the Jets anymore
Brian Flores ?
He’s no nonsense guy
Idk
Ron Rivera ? Ugh
Woody wants a coach with experience
And Rex said Aaron’s not a Jet next year

So no coach
No GM
No QB

Oh yea things looking up
Zero faith or completely negative this gets turned around
Hey run it back in 25........what 3025

I like Aaron Glenn but He's a defensive coach. If they draft a QB I'd rather have an Offensive oriented guy with EXPERIENCE with a young QB.

N Y Post says that they have requested an interview with Spags. I wonder whether a guy's talent for coming up with good defensive schemes means he has the wider skills necessary for head coach.

Not sure why the choice of HC should be affected by drafting a QB, we HAVE a young QB who will hopefully be fit enough to start development/evaluation this year.

What would be an interesting scenario is if Krafft (sp?) chooses Ben Johnson and Vrabel falls to Jets and Vrabel gets Mayo as his DC.

Going with experience, I’m leaning towards Flores. He’s done a good job with the Vikings D. Was a .500 coach with the Dolphins, I believe.
Most importantly, he didn’t take any shit from Ross the owner.
It will all depend on what offensive staff he brings with him.
Vikings QB coach, McCown, is getting positive reviews for his work with Darnold. I guessing everyone forgets he was with Darnold with the Jets to begin Sams career.
What offensive coach is out there that isn’t a failure already at HC?

AND.................I, for one, am not impressed with this years drafts batch of QBs.
