Number 66 Howard Glenn It is about time folks. Lets right a wrong.

Howard Earl Glenn (September 26, 1934 – October 9, 1960) was an American gridiron football player. He played collegiately at Linfield College and professionally with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and in the American Football League (AFL). He was the only AFL player to die from injuries sustained in a regular season football game.

Glenn was born in Vancouver, Washington, and played high school football in Louisville, Kentucky. At Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon, he played tight end and in 1956 caught a 75-yard touchdown pass. He was named to the all-Northwest Conference team in 1957.

In 1960, the AFL's inaugural season, Glenn joined the AFL New York Titans as an offensive guard. Glenn sustained a broken neck in the first half during a game vs. the Houston Oilers on October 9, 1960, at Jeppesen Stadium and died later that day.

In all due respect; this won't happen. Unfortunate that he broke his neck or that someone broke it for him , but that is not a valid reason to be in the ring of honor. It does not appear that Dennis Byrd is in there does it?

There is a difference the Jet coach did not believe he was hurt & put him back Into the game. Then they left him on the bench for the second half. The Jets were guilty here. It is time to right a wrong.

The Guy died he is not still Hump__g his wife like Byrd. He is dead...D E A D. His wife & kids have no Dad.

But I do agree the jets have/will do nothing.

I Called the Cardinals & told them that they should take Pat Tillman off of the ring of honor. Happy?

So it really isn't a ring of honor then is it? It is a feel good story for every guy that suffered a bad injury?
There are a thousand tragic stories out there. It would be a slap in the face to every guy who played for years and isn't up there. Yeah, sucks he died but it's a dangerous game. If that is the only record he holds for the JETS then I can't agree with you.
Tillman died on the battle field not on the football field. That you compare the two is disgraceful.

Jesus died on a cross we could go on & on if that is how you compare things. The man is dead how can you compare it with Byrd (alive) that is a disgrace. Call Maynard he will explain it to anyone that contacts him as he was there.

Bottom line is he died playing for the Jets IMO he should have at least a plaque. I do agree that too many are on the ring of honor. I guess all I am saying ring or something to honor him & his family....I am a man of honor so it means something to me.

Byrd is hump__g Glenn's wife? She's old enough to be his grandmother.

I think some of the players in the ring of honor don't deserve to be there. I don't think we should add to it with Glenn.

I agree with too many people get in the Ring & in the hall. But I will take back my request & I can see your point but They should do something for his family. He needs that honor

Look even the Rangers had the class to do something for a fan that died at the stadium....a class move by them

As long as Hess is on the Ring of Honor, the entire thing is invalid (no, I'm not bitter :)

However, since you asked:

Marvin Powell (as many pro bowls and 1st team all-pros as Gastineau and Revis)
George Sauer (short career but great results)

A small statue or plaque at the stadium would be a nice gesture but then again, the Jets share this crypt so what do they do when those other guys have a home game?

I am not expecting many players to die playing for these teams in the next 50 years but if it were a Giant player I would be happy he was thought of by the team......

I agree & some I will be attacked gain I am sure but I am not sure about Gastineau.

The guy that really belongs is big Jim Turner. He scored the most points in the SB & set the all time single season record for points by a Kicker in his time. Without him no Playoffs in 68 & 69 or SB.
