Come on now, let's not get ridiculous. They could have gone White (mostly) or Beasley (lesser). If not White then trade down. Wilkerson may be in play for a trade. If this is the case then it makes since. I wouldn't want the Jets to trade Mo but I'll understand the pick better if they trade Mo. Williams was the best player available I will admit but was White that far behind him not to draft him?

But would you honestly be happier with Vic Beasley taken, if Leonard Williams is on the board?
He hasn't slowed down that much.
OLB would be a problem, but he has more than enough quickness to play MLB in the 4-3.

Several teams. With Williams on the clock, I would bet a lot of teams had interest; the Giants, Browns, maybe Minnesota.

but while acknowledging the edge rusher is a bigger need, i'm much happier they took williams than reached (IMO) for beasley or dupree
He was never fast enough for 4-3 MLB to begin with, even if he hasn't slowed that much. He is cut out to be a 3-4 ILB.

Like I said before, I will trust in this regime. They have made all the right moves so far so why wouldn't they now? I'm not happy with the pick but I'm sure I will be eventually.
I thought one of two things would happen:
1. Trade down with a team that wanted Williams.
2. Pick White.
I did not see them picking Williams.

well yeah, i even said here i want white or trade down. i was just saying that IF we were to pick, while white was my preference, i'd much rather williams over the OLBs
To me, Williams is not a need at all. If they trade Mo then ofcourse he is but he's still a Jet so I'm baffeled here. I felt if they didnt take White, then trade down also. Beasley was a third option but I didnt see a need for Williams. I trust in our regime and know Williams was the best ranked player in all the draft, so I can't be mad at that. It what it is I guess.
