A combine warrior that shredded Bamas d and caught 100 balls last year? Silly.
He had one good year and blew up the combine. The NFL is littered with one hit wonders. I'm not saying he's not going to be a good player. I am just saying I am not as high on him as Cooper at that position. Same for Dupree. It's not silly. One year of production in college is just not enough of a track record to justify the 6th pick in my opinion.

i think hack will be better than cook also. Hack has a really good throwing motion releases the ball at the highest point.......his mechanics are NFL ready now.

Report: Cowboys won’t pursue Johnny Manziel if he’s made available in trade

The matter of whether the Browns add a quarterback, be it a rookie like Marcus Mariota or a veteran like Sam Bradford, is one of the top storylines of the 2015 NFL Draft. And should Cleveland draft or trade for a quarterback, the future of Johnny Manziel would perhaps come into question.

However, if the Browns intend to move Manziel, a published report claims a seemingly logical trade partner would not pursue the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner.

According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, the Cowboys are not inclined to deal for Manziel if he’s available.

The Cowboys’ current backup, Brandon Weeden, was a first-round pick of Cleveland in 2012. He is in the final year of his deal and is set to make $660,000 in base salary in 2015, per NFLPA records.

Manziel is under contract for three more seasons at relatively affordable base salaries, with $1.29 million in 2017 the upper bound. The Browns have an option to extend his deal through 2018.

Manziel struggled as a rookie, and his preparation came under criticism. Earlier this offseason, he received professional treatment earlier for undisclosed personal issues. Manziel has since returned to the Browns, and he has garnered praise from respected left tackle Joe Thomas for his approach to his craft.

Nevertheless, any club considering Manziel would have much to weigh, including whether his daring style of play would fit its offense. And for whatever the reasons, we apparently can rule out Dallas as a possible trade suitor for the former Texas A&M star.

a suggestion to the mods, but i would recommend having a dedicated thread for each pick the jets make in addition to this general discussion thread. perhaps you guys have already discussed it...just throwing the idea out there.

I say this with all sincerity - Julio Jones, Amari Cooper, Kevin White, Mike Evans, Odell Beckham are the best WRs I have ever seen play in college with my own eyes. I said that about Jones, Evans and Beckham last year if people from the old board will recall and I added Cooper and White this year. I would put all 5 of those in the same group in terms of college play. I never saw some of the current NFL great WRs in college with my own eyes, so I'm not saying they are better than Johnson, Fitzgerald, Dez, etc.

I'd love to have White or Cooper - either would make me thrilled to death.

I should add that if they moved back in the draft and picked up White or Dupree I would feel better about the pick..I think taking either at 6 is a reach. It's my opinion.

if the mods want to regulate 6 different threads they are welcome to

I know elias is in london so he will not be on and I am sticking with this thread, if 51 and sack want to feel free to go ahead.

White is rated right up there near the top. It would IMO be anything close to a reach

Dupree, agree 100%. A mid teens guy, would be a huge reach at 6

Sarge I was a huge Beckham fan. I thought he was going to be the best WR in the draft. I think he is. The Jets didn't pass on him because he didn't fall to them, but I thought they should have moved up to get him. I knew he was that good. I don't have the same feeling about White. I think he's an explosive player, great size. He runs ok routes from what i can tell. I would rate Beckham, Evans, Jones, and Cooper all ahead of him. Now, if he turns out to be a player even close to that group, then he's a terrific player. I'm not there yet with him...he has potential.

white picked at 6 would not be a reach at all dupree picked at 6 would be a very small reach but not out of the question IMO.

i respect your opinion, and obviously can't say someone's opinion is wrong. but the consensus of the so-called draft experts is that white, at the least, is a top 5 prospect in this draft. he's #4 on kiper's big board, #4 by mcshay, he's the #1 WR by mayock (he doesn't do a big board), #2 on daniel jeremiah's board, etc...

not sure someone widely considered a top 5 prospect can be a reach at 6.

of course, this doesn't mean the so-called experts are right or that it's a guaranteed success.

I like mariotta but in this draft i would rather trade down get more picks esp if we can get a extra pick for next year we would have ammo to move up for hack or cook next draft.

I prefer Cook

I preferred him ever all of the 2015 QBs.

Well, I dont think many people know Hackenberg, because people want him to stay in college 2 more years...if he wants to be the #1 overall pick...he should. next year it probably comes between him and cook.

However, for me, it's not close...and Im a big 10 guy. But Watch cook -

His balls float, he lacks arm strength, but he makes great decisions and knows where to go with the ball. If I was wrong, look at how many of his balls arent tight spirals and they tend to sail...and look how much air is under his throws. Its not a dart, laser, from point A to point B, because he doesnt have that kind of arm. These are similar traits of Mich St QBs Cousins and Hoyer. Cook has a lot of the same traits, high football IQ and good decision making, average arm. Also watch his "happy feet," how he bounces while waiting to throw ratrher than taking his steps, planting, and driving.

Hackenberg has an NFL arm, NFL brain, and comes from an NFl system (the one the Patriots are currently running, actually). Watch his throwing motion, footwork, and how he plants and drives

From a mechanics, arm strength, NFL offense, and NFL coaching standpoint, he's light years ahead of Cook...Bill O'brien was his college coach and recruiter till last year...NFL scouts are going to smile when they watch film of himt. He is also from an all boys military academy (high school), strong background and top recruit when he came out.

Don't sleep on Cardale Jones.

I don't know why he had such a hard time beating out those other two stiffs, but in the pros it wouldn't even be a competition, Jones is a physical beast with an absolute cannon for an arm. I was impressed with his accuracy too, and he's cool under pressure in big games. This kid has a chance to make himself the #1 Pick in next years draft.
