Has anyone made their call to Directv to try to get a discount on the Sunday Ticket for the upcoming season?

I moved so I got it for free this season.
FYI, I've had Direct TV twice and canceled twice. Not sure if they are a scam or just a rip off. They constantly are doing the old bait & switch with their monthly bills. As bad as I hate going to sports bars to watch my NY Jets, and get abused by other teams fans, I might have no choice.

I used to do the sports bar scene. Then I realized between what I was paying for beer and food, I could watch the games at home on DirecTV for less, despite the high prices they charge. And so that's what I do.
And even more shocking, in my area Jet games are carried on broadcast networks about half the time. So I am paying the full fee just to get half the games.
Not saying I like the high prices, but I am saying I do it. And, Sunday Ticket is really the only reason I am a DirecTV customer.

No but I did call my local bar to see if they were still going to have a bucket of beer for $10, and $0.35 hot wings. They are so I booked for the season
For the out of town fans -- there is a network of about 50-60 Jet bars around the country. I watch the games most Sundays at the Jet bar in Chicago. Much better than sitting in a corner of a sports bar surrounded by Bear fans.

FIGHT CLUB and a $3 HDMI patch cable puts the games straight from yer computer onto yer living room big screen TV.
Sunday Ticket is a complete waste of money.
Save it and use it to upgrade yer compooter instead.

I'm going to Pearl Harbor, HI in a week. I will be there for two months. I won't be home for the 1st 4 games of the season. So I called up Directv and told them what can you do about the price and here's what they told me:
My cost right now is $250 for the season. If I want to stream the games on my laptop, that will cost an additional $100. I got pissed and said I was going to disconnect altogether. When I went to do that they offered me $5 off per month. So the total bill would be $320 for the season. I laughed and told them to disconnect it.
I've reached the end of my rope with these greedy a$$holes. Personally, I think you'll save money in the long run if you just went to the sports bar. That's what I am going to do in Oahu.

And the additional benefit in Hawaii is the 1PM games start at 7AM and the Thursday, Sunday and MNF games end around 4 30 PM and then you go dinner.
If you are a golfer, don't miss a course on Oahu called Luana Hills. The back nine is played in a rain forest.
No question you'll be OK for just 4 games. But for the season, I find the sports bar costs more. But I don't buy the cheap beers like Budwater.

Thank for the info SG. Actually, as of right now because it isn't daylight savings, Hawaii is actually 5 behind us on the east coast. I'll be going to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Jets games at 8 AM. But trust me there's no way I'll ever be able to order a beer at 0800. I couldn't when I was in California in 2013 at 10 AM. They'll just have to get themselves a breakfast menu with coffee, orange juice, and water.
But I will also only catch the last hour or so of the Thursday games. I'll be working days.
I do enjoy going to the driving range, but am not a golfer per say. Is there a driving range there?
Actually, what I really want to do is go fishing! Blue Marlin fishing and peacock bass fishing. Those are my two musts for this trip.

Neither do I. I have fallen into deep, passionate love with Newcastle. I think when I pass on, they'll have to put some Newcastle in the box with me. But I also cannot bring myself to drink at 0800 in the morning. I can't do it. I have too much respect for myself.
My preference is microbrews. But that can get rather pricey. Last week I was at a place where each bottle cost $10. And no AM drinking for me either.
Hell..... the just raised my price to 41.00 per month for 6 months. Last year I paid 33.00 per month. Had Sunday Ticket for 18 yrs..... no price break.....

My take on it is it's a 2 month stay real life time zone is EST so no practice is even needed
