Now that we know Jets faithful who the Super Bowl teams are, do you believe the Jets would have made it to the Super Bowl and if so do you think they would beat the Carolina Panthers? I personally believe the Jets had enough to beat either Denver or NE and make it to the Super Bowl but I don't think the Jets would've had enough to beat Carolina or Arizona in the SB.

I think anyone could beat the Cardinals the way Palmer's been playing. How many times can you throw what amounts to a jump ball into double coverage?

Not taking anything away from the Panthers though, they're a great we'll-balanced squad. Their O and D schemes were damn near perfect, seemed like they hdd the right blitz on mor than half they time... the OL just dominated in every aspect, and Cam was just throwing darts. Arizona wouldn't have beaten them tonight no matter how Palmer played, but it might have been closer.

Jmo the Jets wouldn't have beat the Bronco's . Fitzpatrick was going to thrive going against that pass rush.( See Bills game for all the marbles- no where close to Bronco's defense). To beat Denver you better have a big time Te, which the Jets don't have one.

The Bronco' Defense is probably the best Tom Brady ever played against.( they are that good). While Bronco offense has been anemic all year( Manning done). The Bronco's have the Te's and the backs to hurt that Jet defense.( wouldn't be a good matchup for Jets defense).

I don't think the Jets could have beat New England on the road.( Denver pass rush hit Brady like he was a Piñata all day ) They still almost found a way to win that game.

You could very well be right and I can't argue what you're saying at all for as good as Fitzpatrick played this year he ain't no Vinny Testaverde and I wholeheartedly believe the Jets would have won a SB with Vinny or Chad Pennington if they were able to stay healthy so maybe the Jets wouldn't have one against Denver on New England but that's neither here nor there and I know for fact or I believe they would not have beaten the Panthers anyway so it doesn't really matter

Unnecessary comment. The man is here to talk football. No need to bait him.

When we were on the hot streak on the way to the playoffs I really think we could have beaten anyone but the Broncos and Panthers are now two teams we probably couldn't beat. Their defense is amazing.

Denver was in the backfield on every single play. They abused the Pats oline. Hopefully Mac and Bowles learn and try to nab some pass rushers like Von Miller or Ware in this draft. Game changers.

Panthers should win this handily. Manning is done. Kudos to him for making it this far.

We wouldn't have gone very far with Wilkerson on one leg.

Broncos d is too good this year. I disagree that they are the best Brady has faced. I think us in 09, and certainly the 00 ravens, if he faced them.

I forgot all about the fact Mo hurt or broke his leg. Major missed factor. Mo was our pass rush and without him, we really didn't have one and had no chance of beating either four of the championship teams.

A couple points First Brady didn't start playing till 2001( Mo Lewis hit), so he never played against that 2000 Ravens defense. Jmo ( no scientific evidence to prove it either way) the Jets 2009 defense didn't have anywhere the pass rushers the Bronco's have now- just isn't the olb's that can get to the qb (who was that Jet pass rusher who you could count on being in Brady face all day. ( Calvin Pace- eight sacks). The Jet defense might have been highly effective, but Brady wasn't going to have trouble getting out of bed the next day.

Only thing Jets had better was Revis who was better than any of the Bronco Cb's. The Bronco's CB group one to three is way stronger than the Jets CB group. THE Broncos have better cover safety's and lb's than the Jets 2009 defense had.

The Jets 2009 defense was a big reason the Patriots changed their mindset( from Wr based offense to the Te based offense. If that 2009 Jet defense had to cover Gronk, how would they have done.

How $110M and Elway scouting genius built monstrous Broncos

The Broncos came to New York for the Super Bowl two years ago with a high-octane offense piloted by Peyton Manning. They rode that unit, which featured receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker, all the way to MetLife Stadium and Super Bowl XLVIII … where they got destroyed by the Seahawks.

Seattle had the No. 1 defense in football that year, and on an unseasonably warm day in East Rutherford, the Seahawks smoked the Broncos and their top-ranked offense, 43-8, with a defense that was relentless and so fast, it made the Broncos look as if they were playing underwater.

Perhaps it was that day Broncos top executive John Elway, the old quarterback, figured out he needed to build a team that relied on defense rather than offense.

Mission accomplished.

The Broncos will return to the Super Bowl against the Panthers in two weeks with a ferocious defense that was on display Sunday in the AFC Championship game against the Patriots. After finishing No. 1 in the NFL in total defense, pass defense and sacks this season, the Broncos defense showed it was for real against Tom Brady. Denver sacked Brady four times, 2.5 from Von Miller, and hit him 23 times, the most any quarterback has been hit in the NFL this season.

“We were able to put pressure on him, even when we dropped eight into coverage,” Elway said. “I thought we really got him out of sync at times. It was just the way you need to play a guy like Brady, a team like that, that’s done so much. You have to get them off schedule.”

Denver’s defense is a credit to Elway, who has been building it since he joined the front office in 2011. He has done it in multiple ways — drafting, finding players passed over by other teams and spending big in free agency. While he has missed on some of his offensive choices, he has been close to perfect on defense.

Some of the pieces were in place in February 2014, when they took on the Seahawks, but they were either injured that day or developing. But Elway must have seen something that day against the Seahawks on both sides of the ball. His defense was no match for Russell Wilson and the Seahawks, but Seattle’s defense showed the blueprint for dominating. With hard hits and crazy speed, Seattle shut down Manning and Co., scoring a defensive touchdown and a safety.

Miller watched that game from the sideline after tearing his ACL two months earlier. The No. 2-overall pick by Elway in 2011, Miller showed how disruptive he can be Sunday, when he made Brady look worse than that courtroom sketch artist did.

Chris Harris Jr. also watched that game with a torn ACL he suffered a few weeks earlier. The cornerback showed Elway could find hidden talent. He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas in July 2011 and has become a key piece in the Broncos defense after studying under Champ Bailey in his early years.

Elway found some other gems beyond the first round of the 2012 draft with defensive ends Derek Wolfe (second round) and Malik Jackson (fifth round) and linebacker Danny Trevathan (sixth round). Trevathan was taken with a pick acquired by Elway from the Jets in the Tim Tebow trade.

After the trouncing by the Seahawks, Elway got really aggressive. He committed $110 million in 24 hours in March 2014 for cornerback Aqib Talib, safety T.J. Ward and defensive end DeMarcus Ware. Those three have looked like wise investments as Ware complements Miller on the other side of the pass rush, Talib can lock down a receiver and Ward delivers vicious hits.

The last piece of the puzzle was defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, who was hired this year on Gary Kubiak’s staff. The veteran coach has transformed a good defense into a dominating one, switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4. Phillips has turned the Broncos’ pass rush loose. Just ask Brady, who looked shell-shocked Sunday.

Two years ago, the Broncos relied on their quarterback. Now, they rely on terrorizing the other team’s.

Hopefully Mac and Bowles can build a ferocious defense like the Broncos did. We just need those pass rushing LBs.

NO and NO. If they could have had ANY success against these top tier teams, they would have shown that they can beat a winning team a LOT more often than once a f*cking year. Get real. The Jets are MILES away from competing for it all.

Without Wilk we wouldn't have made it out of Cincy, dont even think about the Broncos.
The Bengal would have been more focused on the game rather than inflicting injury on anything wearing Black and Gold
