So all the options need one thread
this thread can go till next years draft or free agency
so I'm guessing
In the draft:

Josh Rosen, is out

Sam Darnold, is out

Baker Mayfield, maybe if there

Lamar Jackson, quite possible

Josh Allen, hmmmmm

or how bout we go this route
[h=2]Kirk Cousins my choice[/h] [h=2]Teddy Bridgewater[/h] [h=2]Tyrod Taylor[/h] or God forbid
Bryce ......Josh........Hack [h=2]Somebody make a poll:[/h]

If Cousins wants to play here, that would be very interesting. He's a good player and he's a perfect fit for this offense.

Cousins SUCKS. That's the guy you pick up if you want your team to always win somewhere between 6 and 8 games. I can't see him succeeding on the big stage. I want the Jets to win SB's not be some middle of the road, fringe playoff team. The idea is to get better consistently until you win the SB. That's Mac's job description. That is what he is tasked with doing and time is running out on him? After 3 years the Jets have nothing to show. Not a single notable accomplishment or at least anything anyone gives a shit about.

I want Mac to go after and obtain the next truly great QB in this league. That's his JOB. I would love to see him go after a great young candidate like a Mayfield or Rosen? Possibly Rudolph? Then hedge his bets in the short term with like a Josh McCown? Therefore, we can ensure we have at least a competent QB running the show while the youngster learns from the bench? I'm not sure if the kid would need that bench time? It really depends on who that kid is? But this way we have options either way..................

I would like to get OL help in the draft but after thinking out the situation clearly, QB is our top option. I don't like Smith. (Just me) Bridgewater would be a good addition. Still Young. Cousins is going to command a big salary and we have the cap space. I hope we don't trade for Glennon. IMO Darnold and Rosen are out of reach unless we mortgage the franchise. I do not know much about Rudolph. Mayfield comes with a lot of ????? marks. I don't want another journeyman QB. I also like the FA signing so we can use our picks on needs. We also need to protect our QB as in Mangold/Ferguson!

Cousins sucks??? Your kidding right

Cousins does not suck

Cousins has completed 1,034 of 1,525 attempts (67.8 percent) for 12,121 yards, 73 touchdowns and 29 interceptions

His passer rating 99.7

ranking with Brady, Ryan, Brees,

Has done this this with a terrible offensive line

Has a 42.5 percent completion rate on deep throws

rushing touchdowns since 2015 are the 3rd most behind Cam , Tyrod

And the defense has been terrible for the past 3 years

Any one that says he sucks doesn't know much about the QB position

Cousins makes this young team an instant contender

But that's my take

whatever

The problem is Cousins is, its not worth committing the largest QB contract in NFL history to a guy that has folded tent 100% of the time hes been on a big stage (see last years win and in game versus a giants team playing for NOTHING, in washington. See pretty much every prime time game hes played in).

I agree with some that Cousins would actualy be a pretty decent system fit here but i dont think hes THE GUY you want to commit yourself to for the next 5 years. He has good numbers but he's a guy that wont pass the eye test in a big spot.

EXACTLY my point. Whenever there's an opportunity for this joker to showcase his talent to a national audience he folds up like a lawn chair. Then think we are going to have to pay this guy about 140 million over a long term contract with a 30 million dollar signing bonus and about 50 million in guaranteed money?

No thanks. I'd much rather see our GM do his job for once. Identify and obtain real live college talent that can be developed. He's f*cked up twice now but that doesn't mean he's off the hook for getting the Jets a QB through the draft..........

This would be the best scenario ever...What if Shanahan really wanted Cousins. The 49ers sign him and then traded with the Jets for Garapolo while screwing the Patriots and Belichick. I would gladly give up both #2's this year for Garapolo.

Exactly BigMoe. Cousin doesn't suck at all. He's on a mediocre team, with mediocre weapons, a bad o-line and put up fantastic numbers. Cousins can play the position at a very high level no doubt about it. Is he worth some giant contract, no, nobody is.

Maybe third time's a charm.
Or, even a blind dog hits an occasional fire hydrant.
Take your pick. But we're due.

the Redskins got suckered into taking RG3 in fact they were better just drafting Cousins who is a 2nd tier after the Top 5 (8) in the league... If he had a good supporting cast he can be good but if he was asked to carry a team eh... but to get him he is going to want to moon and everything underneath and I am not willing to see this team pay this dude 30 Million annual to get his services...

as for the others on the list in free agency the only one that makes sense on a financial standpoint is Teddy Bridgewater but his camp ain't stupid either knowing that if he gets hurt again his career is done so they will be seeking certain guarantees that only a desperate team would offer and I don't see us desperate...

Any QB that would be good for us out of free agency would be either unreasonably expensive or for one reason or another unavailable to us. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them bring McCown back for another year, if he doesn't get greedy and ask for a fortune, to continue working with our younger QBs whoever they might be. I'd almost bet on it especially if they think the draft is going to give them a good shot at a franchise QB. I know that's not what many of you want to hear but I have a strong hunch that is how it will turn out.

What would you give/trade to the Colts for Andrew Luck?
Talk radio was speculating that his camp is unhappy with Indianapolis and he is coming off surgery to his throwing shoulder. They Like Jacoby Brisset(their words not mine) plus his contract the Jets can afford.
What price, for the Jets, is too high? 2018 1st, 2nd & 2019 1st?
A healthy Luck on the Jets, Would LOVE to see it.

No problem giving up those picks if there is a 100% guarantee he is healthy. Not sure that he is or will be. And its been over 2 years since he hurt his throwing shoulder. He hasn't thrown an NFL pass since 2015

I'm with you on this one. A healthy Luck starting for the Jets would certainly get my vote. But, even if he was healthy why would he be willing to come here and how well would he fit in with this young team ?
