Here's his mock for the team's first three rounds.

Round 1

Vic Beasley OLB

Beasley immediately provides an athletic edge rush linebacker for new head coach Todd Bowles and his defensive staff to utilize.

Round 2

Laken Tomlinson Guard Duke

He fills a need for the Jets at the Guard spot. The Jets have signed several veterans to the offensive line to provide depth. Guard is still an area that needs to be addressed.

Round 3

WR Devin Smith WR Ohio St

The Jets add a fast receiver who has the ability to stretch the field vertically. Not the most polished receiver in the draft he certainly has upside and is a great value in the 3rd round.

I would say that this pick could come down to a running back or wide receiver. Even though the Jets have a full backfield with Chris Ivory, Bilal Powell, and recently signed ex Patriot Stevan Ridley, all of them could be free agents next off season.

More analysis at the link, including additional options for each pick.

I'll sign up for this draft. Fills all our remaining needs besides QB.

I just can't see this occuring. I see Mac placing a strong emphasis on offense from round one to three. WR-QB-RB to be exact.

The way this defense is constructed, to have a pass rusher would be a bonus, but it isn't necessary. WR is a strong necessity. We cannot count on Brandon marshal as he has miles on him. If he were to go down, then wed be stuck in the same position as last year with our wr core. We need a playmaker in either White or Cooper. If they're unavailable, then sure i'll take the best pass rusher available.

Quarterback is a necessity. We can't win with Geno and Fitz is only good for a number of games. If Petty is on the board, you must take him as he fit's Gailey's offense perfectly learning from one of the best minds in collegiate game, Art Briles.

Its time this team invests in a Running back that can take any hand off to the house. Duke Johnson is that guy is available in the 3rd round.

The only problem is, we've drafted guards like Randy Thomas and Matt O'Dwyer in the 2nd round. Both solid linemen. And we've waited for the mid rounds for players like Aboushi and Dozier. Both players who needed development, and some uncertainty whether either is a starting caliber player.

I don't believe the theory that guards can wait until after round 3 or 4. A Steve Hutchinson or Alan Faneca can do great things for an o-line.

Not crazy about this scenario, plus, DS won't be there in the 3rd. Someone will fall in love with his speed.

Definitely agree that it will depend on the how the draft shakes out and who is available. I could see them going Wr with the 1st pick also. OL is a definite need area though and I think it could use a top 100 pick to address that area. Appreciate you guys checking it out and your feedback. I'm just hoping for a strong Jets draft!!

They're taking a QB on the 1st day. That's why this mock makes no sense.

And when Winston and Mariota are gone at #6 , are you calling for the biggest draft reach in draft history?

Or do we take the BPA at 6 (hopefully Fowler or Beasley, an edge rusher or Cooper or White, a wide receiver?
