Geno beats revis on final play of scrimmage for TD to Marshall...drops mike, walks off the field. Says this one's for SG3 and blows him a kiss that appears on the scoreboard for all to see...
LOL!!! Well Played :super-smiley-emotic

I love sg3 but he has a sense of humor and I think he'll laugh at this.

I was at the practice today. No one was impressive today except Zac Stacy.

Geno had four mistakes that I can remember. Given the short amount of reps, they are too many. He fumbled, on a play, held the ball too long on another. The other two mistakes were inaccurate passes.

Felt Fitz played better today by moving the ball but he was also playing against the second string. He didn't show anything that would put Geno on notice.

No one on offense was running free though so all throws that were being made by Geno were tough.

I thought I read that Stacy fumbled away a ball in the end zone. I wasn't there, so just going on second hand info. Also, Geno's stat line looked pretty good other than the strip fumble by Pace. Two TD throws to Marshall, one against Revis. That sounds good to me. It was really typical to hear that fans were booing him in a practice. Really? I know fans are expecting a lot from him this season, and some won't judge him fairly this season based on their minds already being made up, but COME ON.

Booing our QB at practice? Some of our fans are lame.

Sounds like Enunwa is having a strong camp too.

If this Owusu thing is serious, and I did not know he's had a history with concussions, then its possible Enunwa can edge him out. Sucks for us and for Owusu because I thought we found a pretty good young receiver, but multiple concussions can end careers. If Enenwa makes it a close call, they probably go with the healthy young player.

Yep. Stacy fumbled at the goal line. On the previous play he just finished executing a 30+ run juking his way to open space. He had a few of those.

Genos numbers were good but the #1 offense didn't look impressive to me.

Seems to be some confusion and difference of opinion re: the performance of our "starting QB for now" at last night's practice

A large number of those in attendance were unimpressed with his stumbling, fumbling etc and expressed it by booing

Elias was at the practice and appears to.somewhat agree and posted that Ryan Fitzpatrick played better.

Media in attendance mostly agreed

On the other hand, one loud snarky voice, hundreds of miles away and also the unofficial President of the Geno pom pom wavers at JFU pronounced the performance as brilliant, sparkling and perfect without even seeing it

Not sure whom to believe

I thought I was on the ignore list. Have some fun sh3. The preseason is next week and the regular season a few weeks later. Lighten up.

I went to the scrimmage last night and as much as i want to be high on Geno with all this GREAT news from camp, he seemed like the same old Geno. Yes the stats state other wise, but IMHO, you had to be there.

I'am being very cautiously optimistic about Geno and for that matter with him at the helm , our overall record.

If its Jekyll & Hyde Geno, 5-11 is definitely on the horizon and that is just not acceptable with the team that has been assembled.

If its a more matured and even keeled Geno, i'd say 10-6.

if its what i saw last night, it's quite possible it will be the former unless Bowles yanks him out to salvage the season.

My Observations on te Green and White scrimmage:

-Defense was solid overall.

-Offense started slow but came back strong late.

_Geno had ups and downs but made up for it late. Though the downs IMHO are to worry about. Holding the ball too long. Locking on receivers. The fumble.

-Fitz isn't that much satisfying to see any way but he didnt commit a turn over.

-OLIne seemed stout. Colon has that RG locked down.

-Run Game looks very good

-Alot of 5 wide as Chans offense is in full swing. Though if Geno locks on to receivers, strip sacks are on the horizon.

-Enunwa looks excellent

-Trevor Reilly looks very fast off the edge.

-Special teams, Hakim is a monster IMHO, with his speed he will place us in great field position every time.

-My boy Bryce Petty showed some flashes but he has no buisness seeing the field this season, dude is just too raw right now.

Bright spot is that Geno was playing a great defense. During the regular season the wr will not be covered as much as last night.

We'll find out as early as this Thursday against the Lions. Last year I was excited too and then I think the first play of preseason was an interception. Could be confusing my Genos with my Sanchezes.

How did Shaq Evans look? How about McDougle? Did Geno look better than Fitz?

If he just cuts down on risky plays , he should be fine. Protect the ball. Take smart chances. Our defense will do the rest. That's what Namath did when they won it all.

So 'Jet fans' boo a young and developing QB for getting strip sacked and otherwise going 10-13 with 2 TDs. How about supporting your team - what a pathetic and sad display.

Understand Old15, unless Geno plays mistake-free football, he'll be roasted by those who hate him. There's literally zero margin for error. He cannot succeed under those circumstances, so it's almost pointless to even debate it. The best QB's make occasional mistakes, too. But Geno's are amplified because of the last two years.

I'd add that the fact that he stinks turns off most Jet fans too.

Especially those of us who've plunked down $1525 per ticket for 2 seasons to watch it

Jet fans also booed Kellen Clemens, Browning Nagle, Brooks Bollinger, Quincy Carter, Neil ODonnell, Al Woodall etc for much the same reasons

Didn't see Dex's name mentioned, which unless you intercept is usually a pretty god thing when you're a DB and Evans was sidelined with bruised ribs.

You forgot to mention the franchise icon Joe Namath who threw 173 TDs and 220 INTs - a turnover machine if I ever saw one. Namath averaged 24 INTs his first three years, Smith 17 in his first two.

Wait

Now you are comparing Geno favorably with Joe Namath??

And I foolishly thought we'd reached an all time forum low when the king of the pom pom wavers favorably compared our very own worst QB in the NFL for 2013 and 2014 with Tom Brady

A new topper in ridiculously contrived comparisons to support Rick Mirer Jr

Typical of this fan base, though.
