hardly a glowing recommendation for flynn
Its not like the guy comes in with a glowing resume either -- not many options when you need a QB in mid-August.
hardly a glowing recommendation for flynn
Flynn said he expects to be a practice participant very soon...his roster spot seems to depend on it. I think Bowles even said yesterday if someone shakes out better between now and week 1, we'll likely make a play for them. If Flynn doesn't get on the field soon, I dont think he makes the team. Just my opinion.

To say the least. I'm getting a vibe that maybe we might be seeing a trade for a QB.
i just don't see a trade making sense.
sentiment from some of the fan base notwithstanding, i don't see any chance they cut geno. nor do i think they cut fitz or just bail on petty. and i doubt they risk trying to put petty on the practice squad and risk losing their 4th round pick to another team.
so if they trade for a QB, they either will be forced to carry 4 QBs all year, effectively handicapping themselves in constructing a roster, or they will be giving up "some" asset to trade for a QB they may not hold on to all year.
now maybe it's one of those trades for a conditional pick, so maybe they gamble a 7th next year, with some chance to become a higher pick based on playing time of the acquired QB. but i'm not sure you would be getting better than a matt flynn-caliber QB for such a low return.
Total speculation here of course, that problem would be greatly reduced if either Smith, or Petty (really can't see this) are part of the trade
Yesterday was the practice they set aside for season ticket holders so we drove 1 1/2 hrs. to Florham Park to see if the Jets actually do practice because based on what Mrs. Fud has seen at the stadium the past few years has convinced her that maybe these practice reports are made up and these guys play cards all day instead
So we show up and mill around a bit, have a nice crab cake sandwich, finally heading to the stands to watch practice which was supposed to start at 2pm. Just as we got there, a loud horn blows, the players leave the field and everyone starts getting ushered out. I assume they were worried about T-storms (that never came).
In any event, we never did get to see practice because they apparently can only fit VIPS in the indoor facility and well, that ain't us.
So Mrs Fud still maintains that a Jets practice is a only a myth
anyone else show up yesterday?
