Scouting Reports for our Draft Picks all but one
This is the one I wanted to see. A kid who grew up a huge Jets fan gets drafted by his hometown team.
He’s a better player than people realize. His college tape reminds me of Kittle at Iowa . Underutilized with strong hands and an above average blocker. I got hope for that kid .
He is a good blocker, which is quite important, especially with the RBs the Jets have. With the WRs he was with at OSU, he was destined not to get too many targets.
Honestly, I like this pick, and was hoping he would end up a Jet. I don't understand the concerns some have with positional questions. You get to the middle of the draft, and it's more about finding value.
His game two years ago in the post season opened my eyes to this kid . He has a knack for making the big catch in the big spot during a game . The comparisons to Iowa Kittle are eerie. If his pro career turns out similar we will be in TE Heaven.
I didn't understand those who said because the Jets had been active in free agency at TE, they shouldn't take the kid. You want to draft guys who make you not have to continue to plug holes through free agency. This is exactly what the Jets should be doing.
