Starting off Thursday show down Justin Fields at Sam Howell, this week is going to be hilarious around the NFL. For the second straight week Jacksonville Jaguars are in London to face our division foes the Buffalo Bills. Our cross town rivals are in a for a rude spanking by the Dolphins who got smoked last week by them Bills. And finally an upset New Orleans team heading to Foxboro. We can only hope that Jacksonville and New Orleans take care of business, not holding out hope for the Gints to do anything against Miami but by chance they can pull the upset, we can start to hope for that help when we head to Denver.

This thread is about the entire NFL outside the Jets Broncos game, have fun, talking smack, talking matchups. Chat room is engaged with the thread can talk here or in the chat room, both are interlocked, chat here or in the chat room the texts will all be seen here and there.

Enjoy.

Interesting that Daboll has gone from QB genius to idiot in one month. If he doesn’t figure out how to mask the decimated OL he will have a very expensive and ineffective QB on his hands.

Jags/Bills, followed by Saints/Pats (probably peek at Giants/Fins), then the obvious followed by Boys/Niners. Gonna have to nap somewhere between 1 and 7. I will see.

He's guaranteed $80 MM. He could be gone next year, and his great, great, great grandchildren will still be millionaires. The Maras have always been conservative fiscally, now this one you can add dumb! OBJ and Jones? $255 MM!

Just saw that the great Dick Butkus passed at 80. Weird that Chicago is playing tonight. One of the truly legendary players of the old NFL. Absolutely crazy hitter. RIP HOFer.

Dick Butkus, a Pro Football Hall of Famer widely regarded as one of the greatest linebackers in NFL history, has died at the age of 80, the Chicago Bears announced.
Butkus passed away "peacefully in his sleep overnight" in his Malibu, California, home, according to the team.

"Dick was the ultimate Bear, and one of the greatest players in NFL history," Bears chairman George H. McCaskey said in a statement. "He was Chicago's son. He exuded what our great city is about and, not coincidently, what George Halas looked for in a player: toughness, smarts, instincts, passion and leadership. He refused to accept anything less than the best from himself, or from his teammates. When we dedicated the George Halas statue at our team headquarters, we asked Dick to speak at the ceremony, because we knew he spoke for Papa Bear.

"Dick had a gruff manner, and maybe that kept some people from approaching him, but he actually had a soft touch. His legacy of philanthropy included a mission of ridding performance enhancing drugs from sports and promoting heart health. His contributions to the game he loved will live forever and we are grateful he was able to be at our home opener this year to be celebrated one last time by his many fans.

"We extend our condolences to Helen, Dick's high school sweetheart and wife of 60 years, and their family."

Butkus and Ray Nitschke of Packers were mean bastards and prototypical MLBs of that era. Butkus was the best though, just an absolute beast.

During a short tribute last evening, Chris Berman had a great line about Butkus. Said that when teams knew they were playing against Butkus they needed to bring "extra chinstraps". lol
