The issues on this team are not with the draft picks but with the ridiculous contracts we gave out in free agency .

The lack of talent from the draft picks must play a role.
This is why I hate it when a QB gets hit on the sideline and the officials say 'After the play was over....'.

competition is a fine criticism but I watched tape on this kid and compared to Wydermyer, McBride is more well rounded which we need... Not saying they don't double dip but they need a possession guy that can block...
McBride has very strong leg drive to open lanes as a down blocker. He is a finisher with a mean streak, frequently putting opponents on the ground. He has great hand placement and very good grip strength allow him to latch on and prevent opponents from locking out.
Lining up in-line and in the slot, he threatens vertically with above average speed and acceleration using his long stride. Selling vertically, he suddenly turns his head and shoulders on posts and corners. McBride can create separation with his physicality, gaining leverage and pushing off. He tracks the ball reliably over the shoulder and has great hands to make catches through contact. After the catch, McBride lowers the shoulder, uses his stiff arm and keeps his legs churning to drive piles and pick up extra yards.
we need someone of his abilities, to give Zach your guy a reliable target to build with while also having him as a leader blocker for Carter and whomever is in the backfield...

What about the catch . You realize that OT IS 6’6” and had to jump for that catch .
depending on the final result and our draft picks and what options there are with our picks trade down, stay put will open up what is available to us... so far at least 2 of the top 10 tight ends entered transfer protocols to go to new schools instead of entering the draft...

Jason Pinnock plays like a safety found his job, hits like a linebacker and plays better facing the quarterback... Stated plenty times his read react as a man cover corner is sub par especially when he loses a step he has less than average closing burst...
