8 fuckin' TD's on offense. Thankfully Zach is improving.
Jets will lose to every single team left on their schedule with this offense.
Just got up early to watch this before I go out. Jets never in the game after the punt return TD, first pass to the end zone in garbage time (and dropped). I can feel your frustration dripping from your posts, this must be the worst offense to watch in the NFL. But it wasn't lost by Zach, plenty of blame to go round:
1. Billy Turnstile at RT, I was expecting Newman (RG) and Mitchell (RT).
2. Hackett always calling a run up the middle for two yards on first down,
3. Allen 'Hands of Stone' Lazard. Come back Corey, all is forgiven.
4. Stupid penalties by Ruckert and Lazard (again). You just don't have the margin for error with this anaemic offense.
Hard to fault the defense apart from a few missed tackles. As somebody else said, all the fumbles went to the Chargers.
And now the good news. We lost, so no season-ending O-line injury.

The Jets outgained the Chargers 270-191, sacked Justin Herbert five times and saw Zach Wilson beat his career mark for pass completions in a game and yet somehow this blowout never looked in doubt.

Anything is better than Turner. You have too tell yourself that anyway. It's baffling to me how bad the OL situation has become.
Look around the League. Quality OL, Hell ANY OL, are at a premium. Teams are holding on to Lineman OR looking for them. So while it seems that way it's not just the Jets. I'm Not making excuses and it's on JD IMO for not drafting depth, especially with a Veteran QB coming in. Kinda a no-brainer there.
JD heartily screwed the pooch on that one.
I'll put in my usual terms:

technically we need the pass blockers at guard more so they can pick up those inside stunts as we saw vs the Bolts. Carter Warren a pure pass blocker less to be desired as a run blocker could and should step in. Max has the athleticism to play at tackle but he is not a full time player. JD fucked up on this, he could of picked up two OL before the trade deadline both for 5th round picks. Shit we even have players like Carl Lawson, CJ Uzomah and others that we could of dangled in the trade to lower the pick value to a 6th or 7th.
I am sorry but Joe Douglas has too much faith in thinking these players are worth more than they are. If they bring back Duane Brown he will take the LT spot away from Becton which means they will kick Becton to the right side with Max Mitchell as the guard and that will blow up in our faces more than it is right now. Becton is by far the best OLM on the line, hoping Tippman can develop and keep the starting role at center. When McGovern or Wes come back they move to Guard but rather go with the young guns and let them develop.
