Darnold reportedly has “a good shot” to start against Miami.
Would be the first time all season that Sam Darnold will play with his starting 3 receivers in rookie Denzel Mims, Breshad Perriman and Jamison Crowder. The likelihood of the rushing attack being available with LaMical Perine suffering a high ankle sprain at Los Angeles, will likely unveil another steady work load for Frank Gore. Ty Johnson also on the roster would get a share of the carries but we all know Adam Gase (Puppet Master) setting up his long time friend Dowell Loggains to take the heat when the team fails. Expect a pass heavy attack against Miami by the Jets unless they release one of the two kickers to sign practice squad RB Josh Adams who has already used his two call ups early this season. Josh Adams could spell Gore and give balance to the offense but will they utilize him properly or keep him on the active roster as a towel boy just in case Gore or Johnson get hurt?
Bryce Hall will likely get the start again this week against Miami, expect Corey Ballentine to get the other starting role after the lack luster performance that rookie free agent addition Lamar Jackson whom gave up plenty last Sunday verse the Chargers. Expect Maulet to continue at nickel with Guidry getting some playing time. Jets secondary has improved throughout the season but need help from the front seven to continue to collapse the pocket forcing miscues in the passing game to take advantage of.
The main question is it going to be Oh My Ficken or Sergio at kicker. Berrios will get the brunt of the returns both on kicks and punts.
