Don't agree. Harbaugh has gone all-in for Jackson's style of play and they even have a similar backup. Put him in a conventional offense behind the weak Jets line and he is a lot less effective. Put Darnold behind the Ravens line (and coached by Harbaugh) and he is a playoff contender. Jackson is more athletic than Darnold, no question, but we have seen these players before and they have short spectacular careers until that big hit.
Watch them objectively and look at their ball placement. Watch how many times jet recievers have to wait on Darnold's ball vs Jackson hitting the recievers in stride. Often it's the difference between a TD or 3rd down.
The QB is the most important person on the field. Your coach, scheme and surrounding cast mean nothing if your QB can't deliver. Too often Sam has left points on the field multiple times in a game. He had as much time as Jackson and as many open recievers, Jackson is far more athletic allowing him to escape more but again, his ball is out much sooner and his placement much better. He consistently does what Darnold flashes. How many times did Darnold toss the ball up for grabs last night, same mistakes over and over.
Right now, in year 2 of their careers, Jackson is in another class. 2 or 3 or 5 years from now the roles may be reversed, I am hoping that's the case, but it's no contest right now. As far as the 1 hit, Darnold's the one constantly injured, any QB, in fact any player is one hit away from the end of his career.
