What we have all witnessed today is the last of Zach Wilson. White is by no means an elite NFL QB. But, unlike ZW, he has the ability to make quick reads and complete short to intermediate throws. Those are things we've seen ZW unable to grasp the last two seasons.
I think JD and Saleh both know that the ZW pick was a mistake. Going back to him next year would be a massive blunder and most likely gets them both fired. Look for ZW to be on the trading block after this season.

He gets you at least four yards when he carries conventionally and not on a LeFleur gimmick play.

My knock on him from day one is “he isn’t a fit for this defense” he’s a beast as a 3-4 ILB. Dude lost almost 30 pounds to try to shift to the 4-3. He is a thumper (not so much anymore with the slim down) and that not what we need in a 4-3 Mike
The kid is a coddled mush/pouter. Unless it's going his way, which has been a rarity so far in his career.

If you are a GM, what are you offering for Zach? At the moment I see his high as becoming a Colt McCoy style backup.
Don't know. Nor do I care. ZW should never step on the field as our QB again. Let JD figure it out. Unless you believe in miracles.
It is really obvious how much his teammates love White! Always people around him to high-five, pick him up or celebrate together. Everyone's got his back and considers him a leader. Not something to overlook.
Bart Scott just iterated it: the togetherness, the constant rallying around White....."it speaks leadership"
I mean, what a difference today with White. It was like breathing clean, fresh air after being in a West Virginia coal mine for a week.

We can draw a sigh of relief for next week: there will be NO unhappy receivers. Wilson, Moore.. all giving "happy" interviews on the post-game...
I bet LaFleur just about jizzed watching his offense click on all cylinders today. Those plays have been there all year. For some still unknown reason, Zach Wilson either just did not see them or did not have the skill to complete them.
I think Zach would get that tunnel vision and not see the open players underneath to make the easy throws. He for the most part was always keying in on making the big plays or he'd fell a little pressure and get the happy feet, still looking for the big plays and not taking the underneath open stuff. M. White took exactly what the defense gave him.
Even when he was looking for probably a designed bigger play, he took a second or two to see if it was there and if it wasn't, he immediately went to the underneath routes, and someone was always open. Much like they were for Zach, but he couldn't do the same for the most part. If White keeps this up Zach will never see the field again as a Jets QB.
Not all games will go this great for White but as long as stays a consistent game manager, which he was today, that's all the Jets need. They'll handle the rest!
How can anyone not be happy watching Mike White and the team rally around him.
