Official Game Thread Week 1: Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets

While I agree that Anderson is not a legit #1 receiver, he is getting a harsh review of his play yesterday. There were three plays that I counted that he did his job and was open, but Sam missed him. And two of those were sure TD’s if the ball was in the right area.

Yesterday's game were mostly remnants of Macaggnen. Not signing Paradis, not keeping Myers which will cost us all year, not getting a CB or pass rusher and another in the line of just lousy draft picks (how did Chase Winovich look last night). Also, stand up if you thought this game was over after Buffalo scored their first TD. Was also waiting all game for the genius in Gaze with his playcalling. Dare I mention Schotty. I know he was hindered with an Oline that hasn't played with each other but where were the rollouts which Darnold does so well with or screens to stunt the pass rush. Different coach, uniform, year and players and same predictable results. It's very hard being a Met and Jet fan.

penalties, were disgusting especially from the center with a face mask call... there was a clear lack of effort at times from some players, one being Robby Anderson... the execution from chip blocking out of the backfield allowing clear cut rushes at Sam Darnold is discouraging...

play calling was lack luster, same play that was being dismantled over and over again we continued to run that same damn play thinking going to catch the Bills out of position... the game plan to run the ball was sinister with the lack of aggression... where was our power rusher in Ty Montgomery he showed during the preseason... Teams that are aggressive up front need that physical punishment to allow a player like Bell to break free...

defense with Mosley were unstoppable, after he left seemed the defense went on vacation including Jamal Adams... Pleasantly surprised by how Hewitt stepped up and fill the void of Avery Williamson but TJ, Roberts sell, and sell now...

Vedvik, after Tuesday should be replaced... That was a joke, and the joke is on us thank your former GM Maccagnan whom let Myers leave for the Seahawks...

agree. And I'm standing up. i don't know how you can change so many players and coaches and still get the same unbelievable silliness year after year

Unfortunately,, I was at the game. My main takeaway is that the offensive line was horrific. I kept mentioning this to the guy next to me. On just about every pass, Sam was throwing off his back foot. Of course he couldn’t throw downfield. There was no time. Ironically, the only time that he was able to step into the throw, he overthrew Anderson just after he underthrew him. I have always believed that the QB that has more time will win 90% of the games. The other issue was that Buffalo receivers were wide open, especially in the second half. It always seemed that there was a huge gap between the linebackers and the defensive backs. Roberts was pathetic on the winning touchdown. Yes, we would have won anyway with even a below average kicker, but the issues on the offensive line and in the secondary will be problematic all year, I’m afraid.

On on a separate note, I was astounded at how many empty seats there were and at how many Bills fans were there. Disgusting.

I hear you man. I remember being at a home game about five season ago when the Jets lost to the Dolphins. It might have been longer then that but it was the last year they played in the Meadowlands. I believe Rex Ryan was still the HC also. Anyway, the Jets put up about four hundred yards of offense but only scored about 20 points. The Dolphins pretty much beat us off turnovers and special teams. I believe they had two special teams touchdowns. It was so deflating, crushing, heart breaking and disgusting. Dolphins fans were talking so much shit and laughing at us and they had every fucking right to do so. Only difference is the the stadium was packed in a sea or green jerseys and those bastards still lost. SMDH

You need only watch the Sunday night game to see what a quarterback with lots of time can do and he's had that time for 20 years and wins minimum of 11 games a year.

it's amazing how the Jets can have these problem positions and not just be kinda bad, but incredibly bad. We new we had bad corners and a bad kicker , but it looked like we had no corners and no kicker. Why can't they just suck a little?

I hoped the offensive line would be better but they actually seemed worse. 3rd and long everytime. We're lucky Darnold lived through the game. Line play hopefully improves as they play together some. Also during Sunday night game they pointed out how cheetahs were in regular season form because they played starters in the preseason. We get injuries when we play starters in the preseason. can't win

I did not get to see the game but just got to watch a vid of all of Bell’s touches. So happy to have him on our team, but please someone tell him to stop that Santonio Holmes like first down ball drop celebration. I hated santonio for that and don’t want to dislike Bell too.
