Restricted Free Agent Tenders:
Franchise, Transition, and RFA Tenders
The NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement allows for some constraints to free agency. Among them, the CBA allows for each team to use one of either the franchise tag or transition tag on a player who would otherwise become an Unrestricted Free Agent. In addition, players with expiring contracts that have earned exactly three accrued seasons are considered Restricted Free Agents. In order to use these designations, the team must tender a qualifying offer on a one year contract. These tables display the current and projected future values of these tenders. Projected tenders are based on future salary cap estimations and are subject to change when a future salary cap is made official.

Franchise and transition tenders are calculated by adding the respective tag numbers, divided by the sum of the salary caps, from the previous five seasons, and finally multiplied by the current season's salary cap. Franchise tag figures are based upon the top five salaries at each respective position, while transition tag figures are based on the top ten.

RFA tenders are calculated by increasing the previous year's respective tender by the same rate as the increase of the salary cap.

New York Jets have so many holes on this roster to fill. They will look to some key veteran options on 1 to 2 year deals while looking to attract players coming off their rookie contracts amidst to rebuilding this roster from the ground up year two but technically first true year off season for this coaching staff with this front office.

Lets keep the talk to this thread, discussions of who may be a target or should be a target!

I think the Jets could be well served re-signing Folorunso Fatukasi earlier to prevent him to find out what he is really worth on the open market... He may be willing to take a hometown discount being from Far Rockaway, he stays close to home and gets a significant pay raise without us breaking the bank...

3 year $18 M is more than feasible for his services with $14 guaranteed... but he will likely seek around $27 M over 3 years if he hits free agency...

Re-sign Berrios and everyone else is icing on the cake.

rather take a flier on JuJu he is 25 will be 26 next year...

sign him 4 year roughly $50 Million...

he is a true number one, with Corey Davis and then have Elijah Moore that is a trio to build a passing attack with...
Braxton, a draft pick and Mims give us a formidable lineup

I like Njoku but he doesn't fit our needs @Tinstar

there are no free agents worth what we need, could try plucking one via a trade

JD said he doesn't mind trading for a player if it will help our team

Would be happy to see them trade for a tight end, maybe Tommy Tremble Carolina or Tre McKitty Chargers

I don't think our coaching staff believes in Denzel Mims. Not when week 18 an unknown WR by the name of Black was playing over him.

And if the Jets sign a FA WR? Draft a WR and bring back Braxton Berrios?

Denzel Mims then becomes our 6th WR at best and when you're the 6th WR on an NFL depth chart? You're done for.
head coach Saleh and general manager JD said otherwise he had some ups and downs this year that made it hard for him to get into that competitive ability to be that guy we saw last year... he will have a full off season to prove his worth...

one red flag reported on was they were afraid to let Edoga play LT in this game nor as the 6th OL to block. Says a lot to me.

Ok but please help me understand.

Hypothetically speaking...

JuJu (FA).
Corey Davis.
Elijah.
Braxton.
2022 WR (draft).

Where is Denzel Mims going to play? Who are you benching for him? And how can a 6th WR kn a depth chart prove his worth?
Covid, injuries need quality depth...
players like Tarik Black and DJ Montgomery on the practice squad...
Davis, Berrios, and Moore were injured throughout the year... not saying they will stay healthy but 17 game season need depth...
