depending on how the coaching staff feels about JuJu who is coming off a down year because of injury he is 25 (Nov. 22)

he now will be looking to move on, and if JD can get him at an affordable contract he would fit the narrative of a receiver that can play outside on the perimeter and line up in the slot. with Big Ben retiring makes sense to go after this guy heard last year he wanted $11 M annual but on a down year might be able to get him for less with incentives...

And I could be wrong but I doubt any team would give a WR a 6 year contract when 4 is more fitting.
3 teams are already said to be willing to give him a 6 year deal where it is more 4 years with all the guarantees in the first 4 years are you ready to have the team cap strung for $80 Million for a receiver who is 29 right now?
we don't have a team yet you want to pay someone for what he did, not a smart move

he would be a luxury signing, when we had an established team which we don't

Davante Adams is a freaking game changer.
so why is he going to want to come to a rebuilding team that won 4 games last season when he knows he can take a contender and put them over the top and be back in the playoffs next year with a chance to win it, money is for players that want the dollars not the love for the game

JuJu SmithSmith-Schuster is another former Ohio State WR who I really like but unfortunately he missed Pittsburgh's last 12 games due to I believe a shoulder injury and I'm not sure it's a good idea to throw big money @ a WR that's coming off of a season ending injury?
JuJu went to school with Sam Darnold at USC
JuJu coming off injury deflates his asking price and if his medicals clear he just turned 25

trying to teach you something, this coaching staff has their fits
position fits
this offense predicates on slot receivers, so with Elijah Moore that can line up in the slot and outside on the perimeter wouldn't it be prudent to sign someone who fits that mold to be able to create matchups with Moore and that free agent, to line them up in different areas

I know they signed Corey Davis to offset Moore, but Davis is supposedly known as a possession receiver, suppose to be that comfort player for Zach but all those drops this season was awful

bring back Braxton for three things, run offense - slot/perimeter receiver - return specialist
after that signing a JuJu would open the door for matchup problems for the defense
Would not be surprised if they trade Denzel, not saying he does not belong but he could be a trade chip for a team cap strung like the Packers who lose Adams to free agency unless they franchise tag him... Even then that added draft pick that would be a conditional 2023 on performance based but this is how Joe Douglas works...

Who are those 3 teams so I can look into their cap situations?

But if 3 teams are already thinking about 6 year contracts it just goes to show how special of a WR he is and what type of impact he'll truly make.

Only time will tell but he's my favorite NFL WR talent and it's not even close.
two other teams had interest but they no longer have their GMs so removed them from the list

the three teams:
Miami Dolphins
Kansas City Chiefs
Los Angeles Charger

the other two were
Las Vegas Raiders
Chicago Bears

of all of them L.A. makes the most sense for Adams he would be essentially going home

one more thing Joe Douglas learned from Ozzie Newsome and Newsome stuck with his template of signing players for his entire career, yes he made trades for players that filled a void but never overpaid for talent, unless they drafted said player

Joe Douglas will do the same, that is his game plan and he will stick with it... He mentioned he would trade for a player giving up draft capitol when or if the opportunity presented itself...

Chiefs have no chance. They only have $22,048,636 in available salary cap space (it'll be impossible for them).

And almost the same with the Raiders and Bears they've only got $39M and $30M.

Dolphins and Chargers are the only two teams mentioned above that's realistic.

Maybe even the Bengals too because they've got Joe Burrow on a Rookie deal + $58M and Chase/Adams immediately becomes one of the greatest WR duos of All-Time.
teams will make surprising cuts heading into free agency I am not discussing this anymore you are driving me insane trying to stat me to death I am giving you inside information and you still have to argue - the teams that have said interest will make the roster moves to make it happen if that is their desire.

those sites are like you trying to fit a round peg in a square hole where the square is still rectangle and not ready to be inserted but you will still argue because you are infatuated with that signing that won't happen and when it doesn't you will bitch about thereafter

3 safeties are on the Jets shortlist but things could change:

  • Marcus Williams
  • Ronnie Harrison
  • Jordan Whitehead

could the Jets target Jaylon Smith on a one or two year deal limited guarantees due to his injury past with incentives he fits the style and would be an upgrade over Blake Cashman, Jarrad Davis and provide much needed depth

Jets are inclined to surprise during the draft and take one known name but there are two sleeper linebackers or safety/hybrids

Kevin Givens was an UDFA that is technically a RFA this off season but could get away from the 49ers and would be an ideal pickup for Saleh's defensive line

Katavious Street like Givens has knowledge and was an asset in Saleh's defense is also a RFA but he also can get away through free agency and if one or both do expect Saleh to get JD to grab them

both are in the 280 to 290 range would bolster the interior next to Quinnen & Rankins

I really like Marcus Williams and I'd have to add Jessie Bates III to that list as well. He's a tackling machine with both ball ability and coverage ability.
this is NOT my list this is coming from inside sources with the Jets, lol you have to add to their list, lmao

Dont know if an extension is in the jets future for Berrios. Heard him on an interview and he was very noncommittal about a return. Said talks just began but he doesn't really care what confrence or division he ends up in and his uncle followed up the interview with a tweet that 5-6 million per year isn't going to come close to getting a new deal done.

I'd be very surprised if the Bengals let Bates III walk without offering him a big deal. Bigger than what the Jets would offer.

Wow. Sounds and seems like he's letting All-Pro KR status where he had a whopping 1 TD get to his head.

And as a receiver he's been with the Jets for 3 years with only 5 career TD catches.

I'd love to have him back especially as our 5th WR (behind Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, 2022 FA WR and 2022 1st/2nd round WR) but if he's pretending to be some type of NFL "superstar" and demanding more than $5M per season well then he could go fk himself if he's looking for $10M+ per year. I'd meet in the middle and offer him 7.5M per at the very most.
And so begins the hate . Happens every time a player starts talking about his payday .

I don't hate Braxton Berrios.

And I was one of the Jets fans screaming at our Front Office to pay #24 Revis during every holdout because imo he earned it.

Braxton Berrios? If he wants more than $5M and closer to $10M? Well then he's not worth it and can go bye bye.

He's no Devin Hester KR 😁
He should get what the market dictates . If that’s 10 mil per then so be it . We can afford it if we don’t spend stupidly on older veterans .
Here’s a question that came upon me on yesterday . Is O J Howard the former Bama TE a free agent this spring ?
