Here is the trade the Chiefs and Jets had in place for Tyreek Hill:

🏈Chiefs would have gotten picks No. 35, 38 and 69

🏈Jets would have gotten Hill and No. 103.

JD will never land a big time trade for a big time player unless he is trading the player. He is just too frugal to take the risk. Its good and bad, but watching every team go for it while the Jets stick to their guns is frustrating somewhat. He better draft a #1 WR since he won't trade for one.

in this case, the Chiefs "AGREED" to JD's frugal offer. Tyreke has a no trade clause...so he picked.
i bet the Chiefs would've wanted our deal more than the Fins. 35 & 38 are very early second rounders, and 69 is an early 3rd.
selection point wise, that's a great offer.
to match that selection point tally, the fins had to give more picks.

JD was all in! Hill picked the Fins.

Do receivers make the QB a hero or vise-verse ?

That's possible and being a person that has only visited NYC and not lived there I don't blame him.

I'm not pro Tyreek Hill trade, but JD needs to find a #1 WR and surely there is one in this draft.
I don’t care so much about a #1 receiver per say . I want a receiver who can get open and can catch the darn ball when it’s catchable. A receiver who will fight for the ball in those 50/50 situations. I think we have a couple on the roster now but we need a compliment.

I want a receiver like Ty Fryfogle.

QBs make the heroes. Brees, Ben, Rodgers, they all made multimillionaire stars out of WRs.

Hopkins, pre-Megatron Stafford, they put up a ton of stats, but didnt have a QB stick.

Well if he is not, the next QB will need one.

Which might be the idea. I think JD would rather have held off on QB until the rest of the roster was set and loaded. But he saw potential in Wilson, and knew he would get few chances to bring in someone like that with the pick they had.

Now, the team is being built around Wilson. If he does not thrive, the team can turn the page and bring in a QB into a roster ready for a franchise QB. So either Wilson is it, or JD gets his ideal situation. Either way, not a bad place to be.

The Hill thing has me bummed out. Although JD did a lot in the FA wave, we still have a bottom 5 WR room, which kinda negates the gains made in the TE room. Even if will pull a London, Wilson or Olave, its still gonna be a bottom 10 WR room . Hill alone would have upgraded that room to at least a top 15 room. I don’t blame JD on the Hill debacle….. but I do blame him for virtually no upgrades to the WR corp…. And we had some opportunities. People are saying DK is off the board…… trust me…. after Hill, no one is off the board if the deal is sweet enough …..

Don’t want D K but would take a look at OBJ who should be ready by the midway point of next season .

Few things about the Hill trade. The Jets were never even considered. He lives in Miami. Another thing, no WR is worth $30M. I'm actually shocked JD was even trying to trade for Hill. Didn't he punch his GF in the stomach and choked her? Also didn't he beat his kid?

I dont want a diva wr on a team with a young qb. Only way one would come here is if the Jets offered the stupidest contract. Plus the Jets are way more than a stud wr away from a playoff spot.

#1 wrs are always disgruntled and available, so there is no rush to get one. They are a finishing piece, not a building block.

The Titans traded a second-rounder for him last off season but cut him after getting just one touchdown in 10 games .
He's a HOFer, but now he's 33. At this point JD should look to the draft. London or Garrett Wilson?
Julio Jones?
