guess no Ryan Jensen, or he was too expensive...

Spencer Long former Washington Redskin looks to be the guy...

Could be a bridge/backup signing for a draft prospect...

I don't necessarily see Long as a bridge or a backup. The guy is a legit starter. He's not Jensen, but he's probably the next best center. I'd argue he's a step up from Richburg.

saying his age will be turning 28 so this could be a legit starting signing but he ended on IR last season...

could be that time that they will draft a center and let him develop behind a player like Long...

have to see the contract to determine if this is the case...

I like Long, upgrade over Wesley Johnson but how much different is the cost and how much or where is Ryan Jensen signing... Haven't heard any news on Jensen, yet...

Long is basically six months older than Jensen. Jensen turns 27 in May, Long turns 28 in November.

Long was drafted by the Redskins in the third round of the 2014 draft. He has played both guard and center, starting 18 games over the past two seasons at center. Pro Football Focus graded him as the 19th best center last year.

He was placed on IR in November last year with knee tendinitis.

These guys are clearly bridge material, but Bridgewater is intriguing in that he might give us more IF healthy. Ideally we are able to select one of the top 4 QBs in the upcoming draft, Bridgewater beats out McKown as the starter and plays really well while the young QB gets a year to watch and learn. We then have the opportunity to get some value via trade while Bridge still under contract. Just a thought.

I believe that’s the smart play. Ideally, Bridgewater beats out McCown and shows that he’s the man. But with McCown there as an emergency QB, he can step in if need be. (Injury or subpar play from Teddy) Meanwhile, you let the young drafted QB watch and learn, then compete (and hopefully take) the starting job in 2019. It’s low risk/high reward having Bridgewater.

I believe Josh Rosen is the safest QB in this draft. I see Eli Manning ability in him.

Overall, Jets moves so far on FA are nicely empowering the front office for the draft. Moves have hit key positions where otherwise we would have been facing gaping needs. With these moves, front office can let the draft come to them - move up IF they see value, but not manuver just to fill a specific need.

The QB signings leave room to take a QB if one we like is there at 6, but we are not compelled to do so. C no longer a crying need. CB no longer a crying need.

These are FA signings that are thinking a couple of moves ahead.

Macc can let the draft come to him if he wants. Leonard Williams and Jamal Adams fell into his lap. If he doesn’t move up for a QB, it could be the same situation. We could be staring at Chubb, Nelson, Fitzpatrick, or even a QB who unexpectingly drops.

Ebron is 24 and he's a local lad. Turn toward him instead of ASJ?

immature brat from UNC my alumni didn't want him when he was coming out and don't want him now!!!

ASJ can go to Seattle, open the door for a TE like Mark Andrews in the 2nd round being drafted -- well rounded tight end... There are a couple more solid well rounded options in mid to late rounds but with Eric Tomlinson's expected return being an ERFA... Neal Sterling expected RFA tender will more than likely return and last year's draft selection this team is well off...

Mind you ASJ basically filled in for Q. who not technically a TE but H Back hopefully could be returning filling out this rotation...
