Reminds me of a recent comment the great Dick Butkus made when asked if he would stand still for post-TD celebrating.
I think it went something like, "that's all they needed to do".

There is a story while not the same but it shows how tough players were.

The great late Bronko Nagurski was in a game at Wrigley Field He runs the ball & side steps the DE, Hits the LB & runs through him hits the CB & does the same & then runs over the safety & is not stopped until he hits the brick wall with his head. He comes to the sideline & says to his teammates that was a tough run but that last guy can really hit lol

Last laugh: Imagine this moment in Super Bowl LV: Kansas City Chiefs running back Le'Veon Bell takes a handoff, cuts upfield and -- wham! -- he runs into Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Steve McLendon.

Oh, what a Jets moment.

Bell and McLendon are proof anything is possible in the NFL. Both players began the season mired in the misery of the Jets' losing, and now they're ending it on the sport's grandest stage. McLendon was traded at midseason. Bell was released after a "disagreement" (his word) with the organization, a stunning end to his ill-fated time with the Jets.

Halftime in the Superbowl and CH is going to be so unhappy as the Chiefs are sucking bigtime. It's almost as if the Jets were there after all.

Typical Tom Brady type of game. Every penalty is going his and his teams way and the opposing team can’t get shit. Has Tampa had even one penalty against them? While this is about 10 on Kansas City so far. They called a holding to the Chiefs in the backfield when Mahomes has been running for his life the entire game. Give me a fucking break!

The game demonstrated what Jets fans have been yelling since the Mac days, the best quarterback in the world can't win with a lousy offensive line. This may now change the focus from going all out on Watson and keeping their draft picks to bolster the line.
Oh, and the officials sucked.

..... and there was some lousy decision-making and play by the Chiefs. Lining up offside on an FGA and calling those timeouts immediately before halftime, both of which led to crucial Bucs TDs.

Didn't notice either of them. You would think Bell would be given one carry.

And it hurt every time the announcers mentioned the great job Todd Bowles , the ex-Jets coach, did.
When he was here, he couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag.

Being a HC is a lot different than a coordinator. He also had the benefit of facing a severely depleted OL which allowed his base front to make Mahomes look very pedestrian.

Look we can go after the officials as i did too but I don't want to see people go after them for not being equal. I can't stand that in hockey. When your line is beating the other teams lines & you are smashing another team it brings out flags on said team. KC was out coached plain & simple. But i do agree there were some bad flags thrown
