I think Jets fans realize it, but it hasn't received nearly enough attention, and its the MASSIVE UPGRADE at # 2 WR, which is the domino effect from bringing in Marshall as the # 1, and at least one (non Jets) website has taken notice:

This has flown under the radar because it wasn't the "direct" result of a 2015 acquisition, but the "indirect" result.

Decker and Tate would be very close for me...but I think we have a Golden Tate clone in Devin Smith. Makes the Marshall trade even better.

Two years ago our WR core was the most pathetic thing I have ever seen. It was literally beneath an NFL franchise. It was shameful that we allowed it to get that bad. NOW, two years later, our TOP 3 (Marshall, Decker and Smith) is worth getting excited about, Marshall is a legit BIG # 1, Decker is a terrific # 2, Smith is a complimentary HR Hitter, and Kerley is a solid # 4 slot receiver. I even like Owusu's upside as the possible fifth man. Night & day from where we were two years ago.

The offense will be operating with a short field a LOT this season. The "D" is going to help our "O" Big Time.
The kicking game is going to be so critical this year. Folk could have a big year if Geno/Fitz don't get the job done.

Having an elite #1 receiver has a huge effect on the entire offense especially Decker. And with all the attention those 2 will need, Smith Kerley and Amaro, even Owusu should have a lot of mismatches to exploit.

IMHO, i think with the Addition of Carpenter at LG is a huge under the radar addition. We needed a mauler and experience there.

You're absolutely correct, although if I'm not mistaken his biggest attribute may be pass protection. Putting him in between Thor and Brick will help Brick rebound and allow Thor to help out on the right side. If he pans out, it will have a very positive domino effect on the OL as a whole. Good call 16.

Thats the good news, the bad news is, I thought the O-line was their biggest weakness, but Russell Wilson covered for their inefficiencies because he's so good at side-stepping and eluding pressure to buy himself more time in and out of the pocket. Its a rare talent and Geno doesn't have it.
