I got a funny feeling Eric Bieniemy is going to be our next HC. Not that I have a problem with this but it just feels this way to me. The Johnson’s love to go with the trend or who’s got the hot hand lately. Yes they didn’t necessarily do that with Gase because he had just got fired but he is a younger offensive minded HC and that has been the trend for the past 5 years or so. Back to Bieniemy, he is the KC offensive coordinator and you see what he is contributing there.

Now it’s not hard to do that when you have Mahomes as your QB, Kelce as your TE, all there RBs and WRs. Not to mention an upcoming defense that makes it happen in itself. So yes his job is easy there but he’s what’s hot and will be in high demand. With the Jets having that #1 overall pick (it appears) that will be very appealing to him. Even if he wants to keep Darnold and why would he but if he did, he could get a king’s ransom for that #1 spot! So I believe Bieniemy will be our guy.

Joe Douglas is going to go with someone he has worked with before...

Back in 2000 when with the Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl team the DC has HC experience but had an owner that was cheap...

Marvin Lewis

makes the most sense, he knows how to build a team and will work well with Douglas, yes he is a defensive minded coach but we need a leader of men not a guy who suggest he is rich, while the owner calls him a Brilliant Offensive Mind...

Unless he is planning to suit up and form a 1-2 punch with Frank Gore, Bienemy should stay where he is. Part of the football dynasty of the next ten years or so, and the chance of replacing Reid eventually. Only somebody who is desperate would take the Jets' HC position, a one-way ticket to Palookaville.
