Our Starting Wide Receivers are....

So far, IMHO one of our strength is the depth at Wide Receiver. The question is if we keep 5 or 6. I strongly think it will lead to 6.

Brandon marshall, Eric Decker, Jeremy Kerely & Devin Smith are a lock to make the club. (call me crazy, but once Devin gets a handle on the offense, Kerely can be dealt for a 3rd opening up some cash to sign big Mo, but thats another topic.)

Meaning we have two more spots available could be three as Chan is not a big fan of carrying a FB as he plays with a Tight end that is more of an H-Back. Here are the receivers that are on the roster trying to stick with the team:

Quincy Enunwa
Shaq Evans
Walter Powell
TJ Graham
Saalim Hakim
Chris Owusu
Deivier Posey
Jonathon Rumph
Austin Hill

Right off the bat, Chan likes speed, so players such as Hakim, Owusu & Posey have a leg up especially on Special teams as a returner.
The last spot would have to be earned by players who can potentially replace Brandon Marshall after his 2 -3 year stay here in New York. Shaq Evans out of all of them has all the physical tools to be that player. Only camp will tell.

Gonna be a fun competition as Chan loves to utilize all of his weapons to the max. Here are my 6 for week one:

Marshall
Decker
Kerely
Shaq
Owusu (KR/PR)
(Smith IMHO wont be ready until week two)

All you have to do is look at our starting wide receivers and the competition at slot receiver no less to see that. We have at least 4 qualities wide receivers on this team and a number of others that can provide depth.

Shaq and Owasu should be the top 2 with Quincy the third if three make it

Smith getting hurt really threw a bug into the ointment. We might not see him until the bye. couple of guys like Owusu, Enunwa, and Powell are going to get a lot more reps to show their stuff then they would before.

I personally hope Powell gets the extra spot. Enunwa, and Owusu are just to tricky to say. :)

Apparently you didn't hear Christa's posted report after viewing three full days of training camp in which she listed Evans as one of the stars of the show with speed and great hands

KRL said he looked good too. It's weird though bc the best reporters had him as someonr having the dropies

There's no way the Jets deal Kerley. He makes next to nothing and he doesn't complain. He also has great hands and is a homegrown very good receiver. He has a role with the New York Jets.

any thing is possible brother. If it means to open up cap to keep a player with Muhammad's caliber then it's a possibility.

Plus, we are loaded at WR. He can definitely be trade bait for a 3rd rounder at best.

Owusu could be a steal. Speed with excellent hands. His route running need a some work, but what better way to learn than from Decker & Marshall.

Now we know where your bias' last. Want to bet which one gets cut from the jets first?
